Licking and Scratching incision

Any ideas on how to get Frankie to quit scratching his incision. He's feeling much better today, and can't seem to keep his back legs to himself. The vet said the pain meds would stop the itching but it hasn't. A e collar wont stop the scratching. I just put a t-shirt on him and put him in his crate and he settled. So I'll see how that works.

We've had many dogs who have had many surgeries. We've often done the t shirt or shorts approach. It seems to be best. I also think my vet once gave me a spray that stopped the itch. Can you call your vet (I guess it'll have to be tomorrow) for something that might help?

We've also used Panalog for skin issues and it's very soothing. Something like that (if you happen to have any around) probably would do the trick and wouldn't hurt the incision. In fact, if anything, used sparingly it might help with the healing.

Just a thought.

Hugs to you both.
Keep his rear toenails short too - and maybe wrap them so he doesn't scratch with thse nails?

T-shirt - I have done that too :D
T-shirt and make sure rear nails are short.
