a little help... in Illinois

My wife and I live in Champaign IL and we are planning on getting an OES in May. We haven’t had a ton of interaction with OES and want to make sure my wife’s allergies don’t act up with a sheepie (they shouldn't, but we want to be sure) … does anyone in the vicinity of Champaign, IL have a sheepie that wouldn’t mind us coming and saying hello? (there’s a batch of cookies or banana bread in it for you!) Figure we should do our due diligence before we commit to a dog for the next 12 years. Thanks!

Man I wish I was close by, I'm up for a batch of cookies! 8)

For what it's worth, I am a chronic allergy sufferer, literally deathly allergic to cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and pretty much any barn animal, as well as short-hair dogs (such as dalmations, boxers, etc) but have no issues whatsoever with OES (as well as poodles and a few terrier varieties). :D

I do hope someone comes through for you though - I think it's great for you to check. Do you have a breeder yet? Maybe you could start there?
I'd be up for a meet up. I'm not sure how far I am from you though. We're on the farwest and north section of Illinois on the border of Iowa.

PM me if you're interested!
Rock Island is about 3 hours away... is there possibly anyone closer in Chicago area or in IN?
what about someone that is fostering in the Chicago area. I thought someone lived near there and has a sheepie and mentioned that she was just approved to foster as well??? maybe I have the wrong city and I can't remember who posted it. Think it was under the brag section
Hello!!! Wish we were closer but we are also about 3 hours away. We live in Buffalo Grove which is about 25 miles northwest of Chicago. If you happen to be in the area we'd love to meet you. There are a bunch of sheepdogs out this way. Not sure when you're looking for a sheepie but there are two fantastic events in October out this way where you can meet a ton of sheepies in a very informal environment.

We did a similar thing in going to someone's house to hang out with sheepdogs just to make sure my husband didn't have a problem. We now have two sheepdogs which are kept very clean. One of them is a foot licker which actually bothers my allergies.
Hey Stacy! Any word on the date of Sheepiefest this year?

I know of two in Crawfordsville and one in Lafayette, Indiana. PM me if that works for you.
