1/2lb lean ground turkey or ground beef (i used beef) 1/2C breadcrumbs 1/2C cauliflower OR carrot puree (i used carrot) 1/4C fat free milk 2T LOW-SODIUM soy sauce 2 cloves chopped garlic 1/8t pepper pam 1T oil oven 400 In bowl, stir together meat, breadcrumbs, puree, milk, soy sauce, garlic, and pepper. Form into 8 small patties. Coat skillet with pam and set over medium high heat. After skillet is hot, then add oil. Add burgers and cook until nicely browned on one side (4-5 min). Turn burgers then slide skillet in oven to bake 5 min longer or until no longer pink in center. Serve on split roll. Notes: Okay, unless you're a mouse or 2 yo... I'd form them into 4 patties (and they are still small if you look at the pic). I'm pretty sure I also browned about 6 min on EACH side ...not just 1, and then baked about 8 min. I just looked at the color to tell (nicely browned). |

Healthy != Burger
Healthy <> Burger Healthy === Burger! I'm just doing the math. |
How about some cauliflower mayonnaise on that burger? Anybody remember the old WW recipe for cauliflower mayonnaise?
Basically steam a head of cauliflower then whiz it with lemon juice, garlic powder and ?? It needed oil to hold together and maybe cayenne for interest?? Since I'm not a mayo fan that was one recipe that didn't stay. Yeah, you can hide veggies in a lot of stuff. |
Isn't "healthy burger" an oxymoron |
