I've never tried a paczki before. I had to look up what it was!!! ...but I did make a king cake last week. Not a "big" fan of that ...but made it for mr. j's office because they love it (they're all from tx or la).
I am so counting the days until I can have a drink. We really need more emoticons ...like a completely wasted person who can't walk. j/k We're definitely going to New Orleans next year. 8 more months before I can have fun again. <sighs> |
It's pretty much a big jelly type donut, sometimes filled with prune, lemon, or custard. Raspberry are the best! |
I moved from Michigan nearly two years ago. Hamtramack has a huge Polish community and you could by Paczki by the dozens. I was never a big fan of them, I mean the pack a whopping 3600 calories and over 40 grams of fat per Paczki, but... I miss having them around.
Nothing like a Paczki eating contest to get you uber grossed out and giving you a tummy ache just by watching! |

A new baby J on the way?? |

Sorry... jean is right. Good ol bf'ing for the first year.
I'll save all future announcements to you Heather ...and maybe Barney |
I guess I was a bad Bf-er. I had beer or wine. Not more than one at a time, but definitely 1!
And no announcements from me! |
Oh darn.....
I think 1 (drink) would be OK, but you gotta do what works for you with that. Now off to check out what that food is...... |
There are some phrases that guys just can't use that are perfectly acceptable for women to use.
For instance, I could NEVER say that I was a bf'er. |
Well...nothing would surprise me nowadays.
to donate milk and be a part of that program, they say you can have TWO drinks a day and still give the milk. I just know I get completely wasted after 1 drink since I never drink, so that's why I don't chance it. Even a lot of "safe for bf'ing medicine..." they're supposed to be passed through at such a low percentage that the baby shouldn't be effected, but when I take something the dr gave me for pain, my baby is knocked out for 24 hours (yes you read right ...only waking up to eat b/c I FORCE her to). |
I totally thought I had missed something there I was like why didn't I know?!
It's PANCAKE day here. I feel we should have these paczki things as Greg's mum is Polish and in my opinion if it's sweet, frankly we should be eating it I like chocolate spread & cinnamon on mine, yum! |

Back on topic though, I am hungry and can use something extremely carby and fattening today. I mean anything I can do to take part in fat tuesday!!! |
I'm glad it's an bf issue and not another pregnancy....I'm not sure we could live thru another with you.
Orthodox began yesterday.....so please none of this meat/dairy/fish talk please. Keep all comments vegan for awhile. |

Poor you Sheepieboss. I'd die! You're strong. |
AND making it start a day earlier than the rest of it. That's a tough one! |

Nothing like a Paczki eating contest to get you uber grossed out and giving you a tummy ache just by watching! I'm from MI also and had forgotten about the Pacskis. It is such a big deal there that we used to call it Paczki Day instead of Fat Tuesday. I do miss that holiday. |
