Well, I don't speak Polish, so it would be a guess at best, but if an Old English did this they might just be trying to trip you....

Firstly, I just have to say... you have an Polish Lowland Sheepdog?! Oh, I think they are just too precious for words and I really hope you share some pictures!
Now as for the behavior my girl does something similar to that. She will press her head into my knees and then push her way through my legs. This is her way of saying "Hey mom, do you mind giving my rump a scratch?" It's her favorite spot, so I just rub along her hips and she's a happy girl. Your pup may be doing the same thing. |

Kristine <snickers> I'd like to see pics too. Our dog has the same behavior btw and I hadn't thought too much of it. |
my dreamer does this all the time to me and strangers but he is trying to get his gentle leader off .. he gooses everyone they think he loves them lol |
My 1st thought was that the dog was wearing a gentle leader/halti and trying to rub it off. |
Mine actually wraps his front leg around my legs and tries to take me down. |
both those behaviors are fairly common w/sheepies.
they never told me their reasons though. |

they never told me their reasons though. Yes jostling you when you are walking is common with OES, but I had a deaf sheepdog that was a constant leg-bumper when we walked. I think she used physical contact to keep track of me since she was in full coat and I did not always keep the hair trimmed in front of her eyes. If you have any question about your young dog's hearing, I would have him checked. Deafness is, unfortunately, a relatively frequent congenital condition in the breed. |
