not sure, but willing to bet your drugstore/pharmacist could help. |
my thoughts too. Let us know what you find out! |
I just contacted my son who sells drugs (legally of course, he is a Pharmacist) and he told me that they are available from some online herbal shops and possibly on Amazon. As far as Pharmacies selling them it is "heavily" frowned upon, although not illegal to do so, by the DEA in light of the fact that they may be being used in some illegal manner in some cases. His Pharmacy did sell them at one time but with the DEA not being too happy they stopped the practice. |
I got them from our vet. We were making a dosage of 13.3 mg of a drug that didn't come that way. It came in 10 mg so we would open a capsule and split it into three fir the supplemental dose.
The drug dose was .3 mg per kg and 10mg didn't seem to be working anymore and we didn't want to overdose with 15 or 20. I don't remember it helping but it was a long time ago. So try your vet, or a "compounding pharmacist". |
Just as a side note, my son works as a compounding Pharmacist and the only problem with availability there is due to the DEA oversight. |
I get empty gel capsules online from http://www.iherb.com. Just type in "gelatin caps" on the search. They come in a few different size so you'll want to check on that. |
Ive seen these at my local health food store, back in the vitamins area. |
I saw the ones at iherbs.com and glad you mentioned them. I was worried when it said "gelitin" caps and didn't know if that was okay for the dogs. Since you use them, I feel better! Thank you! |
