Curiosity kills the cat

Gertie is 2 1/2 years old, and has been through two coat changes. Her coat is now about 6" long. Lately, we're seeing clumps of hair everywhere.

There are no real "bald spots" anywhere, she's groomed professionally every two weeks or so.

She eats Honest Kitchen with additional supplements, and we do Titers. Should we check her Thyroid or is she just getting her third season coat? We used to have a Great Dane with Thyroid issues, but she's not mimicking those symptoms.

TIA!

Hair loss is a classic first sign of a thryoid problem. And it does seem to run in the breed. I would have the thryoid blood test done to check. She is young but my 2 and a half old was just diagnosed with borderl;ine low thryoid. we put him on the meds anyway and he is a completely different dog. More alert, more playful, just more happy!

Good luck.
