I always do plastic wrap for cheese that's cut into blocks then put in ziplock bag. We eat a lot of cheese and sometimes (if stored long) it will be crumbly but it always maintains the same flavor and texture. |
ive never had success freezing any type of cheese..... |

I blame it on Lee and his cheese addiction. I didn't even know that you could freeze cheese. Somehow I thought that it would get ruined I guess. |
I'm a food hoarder, so I have 2 extra of everything we use (condiments, oils, candy, 6 boxes of butter, 10 milks in fridge, etc). ...more if it's consumed regularly. Running out of something is impossible here. |
I free cheese all the time but it does come out crumbly. So only freeze it if you are making cheese sauce or mac and cheese or other yummy stuff. Tastes the same before and after freezing if you use a good quality freezer bag. |
I'll use for the next batch of onion soup, so once melted, the texture won't matter. I wrapped it in Saran, the waxed paper, then in a freezer bag. Didn't want to take any chance since it's $8 a pound... |
Sounds like you got it covered...... |
