I truly feel your pain as I just lost Pogo 3 days ago. It is not easy and is very painful not having them next to us in our everyday activities. They are soooo loving and adorable. I am sharing your pain and wish that you did not have to be going through this. I can't say if it will get any better, but having everyone on OES.org certainly helps as they all know how special an OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG is. |
You were her guardian Angle in life, she is yours now. I am sure she is at the bridge, running and playing with all the sheepies that were waiting for a playful pup to cross and join them....  ..I am so sorry... |

| Seven months is way too short. I lost Chad in a short time after adoption, but I know the short time he was with me, he was extremely happy. Lola shared the same wonderful experience with you. These shorties are so much harder because all the dreams you had for the future are now gone. Rest in peace Lola and to you, peace. |

| My heart aches for you and my eyes are filled with tears. Seven months together just wasn't enough but in this short time Lola was allowed to experience kindness. You gave her the best gift any dog could ever dream of having... the love of a compassionate family. You were her rescue angel and you did great. I'm so sorry it hurts so much.

| Ok, so I know everyone is going to think I am whacked, but in 1/2 an hour my husband and I are climbing into my car and driving 12 hours to Oregon. We are picking up a 14 week old sheepie girl. I can't bear the thought of not having a sheepie in my house. This is how we deal with stuff. Lily has been walking around crying and bereft, and I can't bear it.

I totally understand and get it. That new baby will be so lucky to have you as her new Mommy. I think this is what your sweet Lola would want you to do. Have a safe trip and please keep us posted.

Thanks for you incredible kindess everyone. We are somewhere south of Bakersfield, headed north. My face is so swollen, I won't leave the car. I think Lola did send the puppy to me. We are just so lucky that my husband has a 3 day weekend. I hope Lola knows that I am not trying to replace her. That would be impossible. The new baby is suposedly mellow. Quite unlike Miss Lola. Her current name in Elly. I don't know if we'll keep it. If I do she will be JellyBelly Bean Hankerd. We'll see what she 'tells' me her name is.  |

| I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Lola for the time you had her I am sure she was so happy with the special love you gave her and she has left you with the most wonderfull special memories of your time together, you did wonders with her in the short time you had with her, so pretty too and I am sure she appreciated you all each and every day when she came to you.

| Poor sweet Lola! I can't believe it. That is just so sad. Even 13 years doesn't seem long enough. 13 months is heartbreaking. But she knew she was loved and you were with her in the end so I'm sure she had no idea how unfair it all is. Your new puppy looks like a sweetie. I hope she has a long healthy happy life with you. |
| The little girl is just beautiful, I like Jellybelly, Ellie but as you said she'll tell you her name.
I can totally understand your needing a new sheepie. I've always had dogs right from when I was born but Tiggy is my first sheepie and she has me totally besotted.  Part of the reason I find The Bridge so hard is it makes me scared about losing Tiggy I would be lost without her. The only reason it took us 4 months to get another Dalmo puppy was that there were no pups available in the whole state at the time.
And 'sides Lily needs a new friend. Safe trip and make sure you snuggle with your baby all the way home. |

I had a gentleman tell me when I did a home vist for my GSD rescue He adopted a dog after his previous one went to the bridge He thought the new dog had very big shoes to fill, but he found the new dog brought his own shoes....so you are not replacing your love just expanding it Get some rest and give the new sheepie a hug from all of us here  |
| On I am so shocked! I was just checking out those cute photos of Lola and Lily! My heart is broken for all of you. Lola was such a special girl. Please take comfort that you rescued her from a horrible start in life and gave her the most loving home. She's at peace now and the love you had for each other will never die. |

| So very sorry for your loss, I wish there were just the right words to help the pain go away but I know there isn't. I lost Molly 15 months ago and I still have an extremely hard time coming in to this particular section of the forum! All I can say is that you know in your heart that she loved you and you loved her, so no matter what you will always have that special place for her in your heart and your memories. Big Hugs |

I know exactly how you feel... I lost my little furry soul mate at the age of 5 to Lymphoma... Quin was a rescue that we adopted when he was around 2y/o. I took Quin absoutely everywhere with me... I will never forget the night I told a friend of mine at the club Quin had Lympoma but, he enjoyed his classes so, we will keep going until he can not! Quinnie had the best run that night and Larry sat and clapped/ cried! I think that was Quin's last class... To my point, anyway.... I was sooo angry that he passed when I still had so much more to give him! I was angry that we had spent so much time in training.. FOR WHAT??? Somebody asked me..."Would you change a thing?" Hmmmm..the love he gave me was way beyond even imagineable... I woud never change a thing unless I could have made him well! Even though the time you had with Lola was way too brief, it was so worth it.. She was lucky to have you and you her. I wish I coud say it will pass soon, it takes time
I believe in signs and Lola sent you little Maggie to try to heal your heart.. It will mend in time... |
