Pogo is gone
He fought a courageous, long battle with an aggressive nasal cancer. We did everything possible to fight it. They told me 3-6 months, he lasted 9 months. He was still a happy dog, we went for a walk, chased squirrels, ate good food, visited friends, and wagged our tail the day it was time for him to go. The tumor finally pushed through his mouth from the nasal cavity. A Tribute To Pogo: Why my dog was so awesome! He was my true companion. He was always Happy! and Always ready to go…he knew what was going on by which shoes I put on...if I put on my boots I was going to work. If I put on my white shoes, casual, but the yellow ones he knew meant running! He would even help by bringing them to me along with the clothes I needed. I’d just point and he’d retrieve them. He was my hang out buddy, he sat under my feet while I was on the computer, lounged on the couch while we watched TV, and just laid around waiting for me, just like a true Old English Sheepdog watching over me. He knew what “let’s get the mail”, “time to get up”, “go check your bowl”, “get the squirrel”, “who’s there?” and “let’s go” meant. He knew my friends’ names and would dance if it was time to visit them. He’d try so hard to understand everything I said by turning his head back and forth when I spoke to him which was all of the time. He knew if I brushed my hair it was time to go to bed. If I went to the bathroom at night, he would meet me on the bed. If the TV was still on he’d stay in the living room knowing that I would be back. He was Loyal, Beautiful, Magnificent, and had a Huge Heart. I took him with me everywhere. I LOVED THAT BOY SO MUCH! I am so glad to have shared the eight years that I had with him. Please PM me if you have new litters. I will not be without an OES pup for long. |
