Hi Lisa:
I've taken my dogs to get acupuncture for a variety of reasons abd it's been helpful. Several years ago, Baxter was playing with two foster dogs...and severely wrenched his back (moderation when playing is not in Baxter's vocabulary). The conventional vet provided rimadyl and recommended rest. BUT....after the weekend, when Baxter was still crying in pain, I ended up taking him to a holistic vet who provided acupunture treatment. That was the first night Baxter slept without pain since he hurt his back. I've also had good success with acupuncture with Cassiopia when she strained her shoulder (ok..it took a combination of acupuncture, chiropractic treatments and physical therapy ). BUT the treatment resolved her problems...and we had been going to a conventional vet for a month with no improvement. There was improvement after one acupuncture treatment. So yes, I would defintely try it. Jennifer, Baxter, Cassiopia and Abigail |
Hattie had She loved it she was so relaxed she like the gentle rub down after lol lol |
Joan and I tried accupuncture with our elderly dog who had both hip dysplasia and degenerative myelitis.
In our opinion in our limited experience, it was not helpful. |
