So it's a fun filled friday night in this household and I decided to clean up one of my work tables in the studio. So I turned around to move something elsewhere...what the...I tripped with a tray full of freshly painted sheepdog beads and fell flat on my face. So after the loud pop, bang, thump and ring tin tin of the tray, I collect my thoughts and look at what I tripped over and Cozette was lying there, startled out of her mind.... This is almost exactly what her face looked like There were beads all over the place and the poor dog was stunned and looking around like, "did I do that?" Art came in because he heard the thump and me laughing really hard..... I didn't hear her go into the room or see her lie down directly behind my feet..... So uh...how many of you tripped over your dogs by accident? Anyone ??? I'm still laughing. I can't believe I did that.....LOL!!! |

Summer lays behind you when you are in the kitchen. So you turn and there she is! One of these days someone is going to fall! I say "Summer move your bum!" She huffs and strolls over to her bed! They could do with sensors on them so you know when you are close! xx |
Morgan LOVES to lie down direct behind me no matter what I am doing. By habit now I always "feel" behind me before I move |
Michelina I hope you are ok. Yes, with 3 big dogs and one cat I get busy and don't hear them come in and lay behind me and I've tripped or came close to it more times then I would like to count. Thre "trip" toe the bathroom during the night is layed out with all opprotunities to fall over a dog. They like to lay on the floor next to the bed, all over the bathromm as well. The cat Pearl is a good one for the kitchen "trip". She likes to come in the kitchen and sit on the floor and watch me cook. (waiting for a hand out lol). I always think of them as "silent but deadly" since they are so big and move around so quietly I never know when I'll be distracted and forget to look and strip over one of them.
I'm glad you didn't get hurt. |
besides tripping, i had to quickly learn to check behind office chair before rolling back!!!! terrifying screams help. ;-( |
Ugh.... been there, don't that too!!!! It's funny b/c some times I don't mind, but it's these times I trip and really hurt myself that I find myself wanting to yell at them!! My maltese was even worse. She was so tiny, I was always tripping over her. |
Hope you and the beads are OK, Michelina!
I would only trip forward over Chewie, as he has to lay in front of me. Hard on the back though - in the kitchen he alway wedges in between my legs and the counter. Usually lays there too. Not surprisingly, I often pick food out of his coat. The oddest was the dried baked bean I found - I thought it was a big wood tick and about gave myself a big scare! |
Been there, done that! I just tripped on Daph's feet on the way to the computer! |
I don't dare fall so I've learned to assume there's a dog behind me at all times.
Even going forward I assume...correctly...there will be a dog or two in front of me. The midnight bathroom run is a field test of over and around dogs. The other night Jack had the bedroom door passage completely blocked. I couldn't step over as my stride isn't that long. Took awhile of giving commands, getting growled at and nudging feet before the big oaf moved. |
glad you are ok my boys would have ate the beads |
glad you are ok and so is cozette. too funny. oh yes lots of that here. but not since they ran into me and broke my foot. i can move them with the crutches. ha! |
1 bead is missing, lol , but uh....We're both completely fine. I checked her back today and doesn't feel stiff or tender. I have a lil' red mark on my chin but I'm fine.....I'm so glad I can laugh at my self....
I'm grateful it wasn't on the tile....would have been a different outcome FUR SURE!!! |
Well, now we know you can take it on the chin and get up laughing. Kinda like Conan and Leno. Well Conan took it from The Chin, but sorta the same.
Hope you had a nice trip! Will we be seeing your next fall? Thank you folks, try the veal, it's delicious! I'll be here all week, be kind to your seamstress. |
Pretty much on a daily basis.... I usually fall over foster Anna moving because, she constantly stops to make sure I am still with her... |
We call ours " Chief Underfoot"! One time I didnt see our Westie lying on the stair and nearly broke my neck tripping over him. |
Your description had me laughing!! HAHAHA I learned to shuffle my feet on the midnight bathroom trips. at least if I shuffle my feet I will bump into them. For a while there it seemed I was always stepping on Baloo or Lily in the middle of the night. It'd be ok if they'd sleep in one spot (um... on their bed would be nice!) but you never know where you are going to find a large fluff ball. Woke up this morning to Lily sitting in the shower when I came into the bathroom. She just looked at me and yawned great big like I woke her up or something |
