Time to give Hudson some press

I just wanted to share that Hudson has been quite the gentleman since Rudy arrived. He has been mature, has shared his toys without any fuss, and really seems to be showing the newbie the ropes.

He has sighed and moved off the bed without a fuss when a sleeping crazyrudy flops over and squishes him, not even noticing he's there.

He has sat patiently during dinner time while I train crazyrudy on the sit/stay/eat rules. (Rudy always makes a mad dash for Hudson's bowl and we're not letting that happen.) Not one growl from Hudson when Rudy dives for his food. He does, however, look at me with these pleading eyes. We always make sure his food bowl is unmolested.

He is definitely a little "suckier" in the evenings. Hudson makes sure he climbs up for a snuggle with both of us at some point each night. He also refrains from acting jealous when Rudy's been getting attention.

What a polite and mature sheepie he's been.

But fear not. When we went to obedience, Evil Puppy showed his true colours. Even though he KNOWS all the commands he still asserted his sense of autonomy several times. My personal favourite? When we were working on going around the perimeter of some milk jug markers, and suddenly my arm was nearly pulled out of its socket. Evil Puppy went from a jaunty trot, to laying down with four feet stretched out on the floor. When I stopped to look at him, he raised his head (as if he'd been napping), looked around, and YAWNED.

No matter how good Hudson may choose to be, there will always be evil lurking deep down inside.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :P :) :)

(The above line of emoticons is an actual, scientific diagram representing Hudson's brain.)

When Patch is in her stubborn mule mode after I have asked her to come in, or some other request, she will yawn. I will tell people to watch her when I ask her to do something she doesn't feel like doing and sure enough, she yawns.

Hudson is a patient soul - his little brother sounds like he is a good fit for your family.

I think it might be the diagram that represents Tiggy's brain too but I havent had her brain emoticon scanned yet to check. :D
I'm so glad to hear things are working out so well with Rudy and Hudson. Big bro Hudson senses that little bro needs time to settle in and learn the rules. Wonder if Hudson will only give Rudy so much time to settle, then take over again? Fun times ahead!!!
As always, I love a good Hudson story.
