Operation

I took Hamish to the vets this morning for an OP, he has had a cyst on his back for some time now but during my trip to Egypt the cyst had got bigger, after consulting our vet on Wednesday we decided to act immediately and get the thing removed.

The vet has removed all the cyst and is sure we Hamish should have no more problems, he is at home but is sleeping out his hangover and felling sorry for himself. In two weeks he will go back to get the stiches out.

Best wishes to Hamish on his recovery. :D They are nasty troublesome buggars!

I had that done last May with Simon my basset. Healed up great and the hair all grew back except for a little scar line.
Hope he feels better soon! we have had great luck with getting the cysts drained instead of removed (my boy has had more than his share) if he gets another one you might want to consider the drains.
Awwww...poor Hamish....   Heart is sending sheepie   and a furry :ghug: ....Feel better soon!!!

Heart would like to pm Hamish to talk about his experience......she is going to get a cyst removed on the 23rd ((they have drained it 3 times in the past 6 months and it gets bigger each time.... :? ))) and she is just a little anxious about her tusch being bald!!!!!!..   .oh and the actual operation too!!!!!

We have had the cyst drained a few times but the period between the draining has become shorter each time, so the decision to remove the nasty bu**er was easy.
I hope he recovers fast!
Awwwwww get well soon Hamish!! :aww:

give him a cuddle from us stewart!!!
Glacier agrees, out with the cyst before it pops and life gets nasty.
Here's to a speedy recovery!
Yuck. Hope he feels better soon. :)

wow - I have had aspirated cysts refill - never ones they put drain tubes in. GOod luck!
Poor Hamish! HEAL QUICKLY!
Today Hamish is much better, he got his first meal after the OP and that disappeared in record time, two days without eating is a no go with Hamish, the wound looks good and apparently does not bother him in the least.
I am happy to hear that Hamish is recovering quickly. Give him extra treats he deserve them. I hope this sweet sheepie boy is feeling a lot better today.
i'm sure he had instant relief, my sheepie never had any , but i did. ;-(
