I'm so sorry. It's always so hard, but harder still when they're such youngsters. I don't know what to say.

So sorry for your loss...unfortunately we are never prepared for the sudden silence, the loss of normal every day things that they would do, the loss of our routines with them and all the things that we take for granted will continue indefinately. Big hugs to you and your family as you work through all of the emotions you are going through right now and may you find your peace soon with the wonderful memories stored away inside you. |

Your time was short with Ella, and that is sooo unfair.
I'm so sorry for your loss. |
This is so sad, five years was much too young, life just isnt fair. You did all you could and I am glad you were with Ella when she went over the Bridge. You will hurt so much but you must hang on to the good memories. Please come back and share her memories with us, we all love sheepies and have lost them too. I found this forum just as I was saying goodbye to Katy, she was only 6, and it is so much help. My deepest condolences go to you and all your family xx |

many thanks for all your kind words and thoughts, after a long discussion with the vet and the acceptance that going to sleep was the only option for Ella I asked the vet if I could take her home and bring her back in a couple of days to which he agreed as she was not in pain at the moment. When we got outside into the car my wife asked me why I had done this, through the tears I then realised I had done it for me and not for Ella, for 23 hours she would just lay doing nothing as she had no energy and muscle wastage, also swollen with the fluid in her abdomen, but in that 10 mins of her being alert I gained hope that she would be allright, I took Ella home to see my four year old grandson who used to dress her up and she just sat and let him, I don`t know which one was the craziest, anyway he said his goodbyes and we returned to the vet as it would have been torture to prolong any longer, still not thinking straight but we will all pull through together
thanks again for your support |

So sorry and I know how hard it is to let them go, I've been there too. Glad your grandson could say goodbye and Ella would not begrudge you the time it took to come to terms with the horrible reality of losing her.
All the best. |
