Is it really worth the mony? Is it THAT good. I can get it on payments ( 5 ) and the cost is $450.00 plus a extra 3 attachments added in no charge. ( they cost $114.00 ) These I could use. I found a few posts on Dyson but they were old. This is a new dyson made just for QVC and is light weight. Can pick up with one hand, color royal blue. please if anyone can help.... Deana |

ha ha ha ha ...I knew from the topic you were watching QVC. I saw it the dyson on the other night. I keep it on that channel when we sleep JUST BECAUSE it's the ONLY channel that doesn't show violent/action commercials such as previews for a movie, and our kids run in our room a lot at night ...and we're not awake.
I don't know what you expect ...like some miracle vacuum, but it does what it says. Vacuums and doesn't lose its suction. I've had mine for 6 years and it works just as good as day 1. |
thanks Mrs. J
LOL yes it was QVC. I want to add that I have had a few vacumes ans as of now I have 2 One is my kirby that costs alot of money 28 yrs ago!!! but is VERY heavy. Bags cost about $4.00 each. My other is a Hoover wind tunnel 7 yrs old. Very dirty to clean with and the filter costs 10.00., very haed to clean with and looses sucktion very quickly. |
After getting the Dyson, I'll never bother with any other vacuum. It's amazing. I have the DC25 animal. It gets so much dirt and deep down hair up that I never even suspected was there. When we first got it, I vacuumed the house with our old vacuum and then went over it with the Dyson. What the old vacuum left in the carpet that the Dyson got out was staggering.
If it's the DC25 (not the DC25 Animal), $450 is not that great of a deal. It's only $499 at full price retail and Sears often has sales much better than that. In fact, I only paid $460 for the DC25 Animal from Sears during a sale and that one retails for $549. If it is the DC25 Blueprint edition, I don't quite understand what the difference is between it and the regular DC25 other than the color and a higher price (I think you might get one attachment that doesn't come with the other DC25s). No matter what, I'd check out Sears. Just for fun, I just checked Amazon and it's only $467 there and it ships free, too. |
it is the DC25 I had posted.
And it is free S&H So this seems to be a good idea. AND its on 5 payments. If I don't like it I can send it back in 30 days. |

I'm right there with you on the WindTunnel. Mine is self-propelled (Thought it would make it easier on my back) and the thing hasn't worked right since Day 1. Very heavy and the brush gets clogged with hair after about 2 minutes, breaks belts, etc. I've had it in the Hoover repair shop at least half a dozen times and I've finally given up. Piece of junk and I spent $300 Not a huge amount of money but it was a complete waste. I've been eyeing that Dyson - Get one and let me borrow it!!! |

If you need it immediately I guess it's a good deal but if you can wait, and saving a few dollars is important to you, I'd just watch store ads for good prices and pick one up then. It's definitely not an "act now!" kind of deal for that model. If it was the DC25 Animal then maybe. |
whenever the Dyson comes up I have to point out it isn't all it's cracked up to be for getting dog hair out of carpet. I have the animal as well, and I thoroughly use it to vacuum the carpet (constantly) and just before I use the carpet cleaner. When I go over the carpet with the Bissell (pet version) to deep clean the rug, the amount of dog hair it pull sup is amazing. I really don't think the Dyson is doing a great job on the carpet. On bare floors it's okay ( the steam cleaner always finds more lint and dirt) |
Just trying to help...
If she watched what I did... I can't find it anymore which could mean the deal is sold out?? ...it was a blue vacuum. So if dyson's are identified by color ...not sure, it might be the blueprint edition. If they all come in different colors, sorry I chimed in. I recall seeing it came with a Dyson Flexi Crevice Tool and flat out head ...two things mine didn't come with. |

How old is yours? I got the crevice tool with mine. Not the Flat Out head, though. I think my favorite add on is the little mini turbine to do stairs with. It is seriously worth the price of the vacuum to me-- I love it that much! |
OK ladies i went to Dyson, and QVC
both the blueprint, and animal are the same machine but with different aattachments. the motor ect is all the same. The color says which tools came with it. So mine is both plus a few extra tools. I think I might go for it then. DYSON REP WAS VERY HELPFULL. he told me the royal blue was made for QVC and that saying which attachments came with it. The other blue they have is a darker blue. The record has be straighten!!!!!!!! |
They're all the same inside: the DC25, the DC25 Animal and the DC25 Blueprint. There was never a question about that. All you have to do is go to the website and click "compare" and you see them all side by side. What I was saying is it wasn't any better of a deal if it was just the plain DC25 because it's at the lower price point anyway. You get all the lame accessories. If it comes with the mini turbine tool at that price, though, then maybe it's worth it since that's what makes the "animal" the "animal."
What attachments come with the QVC version? |
I had a cleaning business a few years ago, and it's AMAZING how many people have Dysons and say they are rubbish. It would take me 2 minutes to point out either "This Dyson must be the first model they ever made and you have not changed the filters (yes there is more than one, the second is hidden somewhere nobody would ever think to look)" or "Your brush isn't turning because you have thread caught up in it." "But it's ONE piece of thread!" they would exclaim. Seriously, the brushes that spin are so sensitive, even a thin coating of sheepie hairs makes a huge difference. It's something a lot of people just don't consider. When I had my DC Stowaway Animal, I would be cutting the sheepie hairs off the brush after every room, and our rooms are small. I vacuum twice a week and groom my boy twice a week, putting the hair in the bin. So I wasn't even vacuuming that much hair considering it was the 'Animal' model.
Having a vacuum with a spinning brush is vital on carpets (with hairy pets) in my opinion, but you gotta keep the brushes absolutely clear. I have an industrial type vacuum now, because the lead reaches all over the house and the engine can cope being switched on for a long time without over-heating. And I've gone back to bags as I feel it's better for me, but mine takes 9 Litre bags so I don't need to change them that often. I use a spinning brush head, and kept the old Dyson small spinning brush for furniture/ stairs and it fits my cleaner perfectly. My Dyson lasted about 6 years, basically until I got my sheepie but I reckon that's a good innings for vacuum cleaners these days. They just don't build commercial ones to last as long as they used to. My advice is, get the Dyson, but keep it serviced, clean/replace the filters and all the parts you can get to regularly as it's amazing how a tiny bit of dirt can affect the performance. |
While on the subject of Dyson, I can't tell you how much I want one of those bladeless fans. I sleep with a fan on year round and have them all over for the dogs so I can sort of justify it but $330 for a fan is still a tough spend, especially when we have central air and good ventilation. Mostly I want to stick my hand in it. |
