Anyway, if anyone wanted to check out his blog (I told him no one would - we wouldn't want him getting an attitude problem) he asked me to post the link. http://ruddocksblog.blogspot.com/ At the moment he's in the basement! Today was a big day. He's been doing okay on the stairs to upstairs, and he decided to see if the ones to the basement worked the same. Ironically the ones that go to the second floor are open backed, suspended, and extra long. The ones to the basement are much more normal, and easier. We'll see if he manages to come back up in a bit. He's currently supervising his father's shower. |

ps noticed ground hog day on my calendar.. being UK what is it? I know the film but am confused, thanks! Ground Hog day is a day celebrated on February 2nd each year. February 2nd is 6 weeks from the beginning of Spring. The saying that is the Ground Hog sees his shadow (sunny day) there will be 6 more weeks of a hard winter. If the Ground Hog doesn't see his shadow (cloudy day) there is six more weeks of a mild winter. Another words the temps should not be as cold and if he does see his shadow very cold temps. I don't know how accurate the preditions are, but when I lived in the northern states it was a big deal. I think, now it is a reminder to the north that winter is half way over. I now live in Florida so another tradition left for the north. |
Just wanted to add:
Here in Manitoba a local nature area has been doing the groundhog test with a puppet instead of a real groundhog. They cite the idea that groundhogs hibernate so it's cruel to wake them up. They test the theory with a groundhog puppet. This year it was cloudy in the morning of Feb. 2nd, so no shadow. They claim the prediction has been correct for the last seventeen years. Personally, I think the whole thing was created to give us hope during the worst stretches of winter. It keeps those of us in cold climates from throwing ourselves off a bridge to end it all early. Environment Canada (the national weather organization) does something similar. They'll put a really nice temperature at the end of the long range forecast (about a week away). Each time they update it's still a week away. Sometimes they'll keep it up for a month. It's just something to hold on to in your heart as you scrape the ice off your car, and put hotshots in your double layered mittens. |
a friend sent me an article about animal rights group wanting to replace phil(live groundhog) with a mechanical groundhog.
for the record, he is very well taken care of. it's way too cold to throw one's self off a bridge into frigid water or gettin a concussion hittin ice. it's true, more of a reminder that just a lil bit longer and you can start removing layers!!! and rudy can comment on shade cause it's way too hot. or air conditioning. |
I love the Rudy post I am now obsessed with Rudy and seing how things are going for him.. Any chance on having Ron giving Rudy his very own header or automatic link??? More cute pics though we want to see him in action |

I so look forward to Rudy's posts. My father has him bookmarked too. Lola thinks he's sexy... |
Daphne agrees w/Lola about Rudy being so sexy! Count her in as one of his groupies! We are bookmarked as well. |
I almost spit out my tea reading this mornings blog. The 'pained' photo of Hudson is an instant classic. Good job RUDY! |
I just wanted to let you know that Rudy really appreciates all the positive feedback. It's only going to his head a little.
And to Lola and Daphne, Rudy sends a wink, and some big wet sheepie kisses. |
I'm enjoying Rudy's blog but why haven't we heard from Hudson? I sure would like to hear his take on things! I have a feeling he can write volumes! |
Daphne has asked me to frame the message from Rudy about the wink and wet sheepie kiss. She is saying that Rudy is her Valentine! She also thinks that Hudson's new hairdo is really cool. |
I look forward to the Rudy and Hudson Blog |
i can't stop l.l of the blog today with hudson ..keep them coming |
