Are Our Dogs Psychic?!

Everyday when I come home from work, without fail, Emmie is looking out the window, wagging her tail before I even start going up the steps to our house. Does anyone else's dog do this? I read this articlerecently that talks about studies and debates whether or not dogs (and animals in general) are psychic. What do you guys think?

I think Emmie can definitley tell when I'm sad/lonely/excited/whatever - she always has the exact reaction that I need - I couldn't ask for a better dog!

Psychic?

Personally, I think not. ...just smart enough to figure out that around 4 every day ...it's dinner ...two hours later, daddy usually comes home, and two hours after that ...it's bed time. Every breed we've had has done this which I have always thought was cute. :)

Kinda like without a clock, my stomach gets hungry around 6 a.m., noon, and 7 pm. At least that's what I believe. Dogs ARE great.
Dogs have really great hearing, and can easily hear stuff we can't. I know that my dogs can hear my husband's truck engine long before he's in sight. (Rudy's third day here, and he's pretty much got that licked.)

I don't believe in human or doggie psychic powers. I wish I did. Life would be a lot more interesting.

They are just wired differently than we are. As much as I love chocolate, I cannot hear a chocolate bar wrapper being torn open three rooms away. My dogs, however, seem to hear it three cities over. I'm not jealous though. They cannot type, which significantly limits their internet shopping. So, I do get the last laugh.
Closer to psycho here...
Also dogs communicate a lot with very subtle body language so they're much better than we are at knowing our moods by looking at us.

There is also some evidence to suggest they can tell a lot more than we ever imagined about each other and us by smell.
I have to wonder.... I've been sick all week, in and out of bed, and Tonks always has to be in bed with me. I was feeling sort of guilty; I mean that's alot of no-play time for her. So one afternoon she was out on the deck, napping in the sun when I needed to go and lie down in the bedroom. I hadn't been outside with her, so its not like my disappearance tipped her off. But within 5 minutes of my lying down, she was getting up and into bed with me.

How did she know? She was fast asleep outside!!!
