That is strange! Not so unusual for a sheepie, he didn't even come in for a treat? Ru always comes in if I bribe him with cheese |
Is it the steps or do you think he just wanted to be outside? I would have pushed the fart inside just so I don't have to deal with them trying the same stunt the next day. Plus, the other side of me is... stays outside ...smells. |
He wouldn't come in for a treat. He is the weirdo who usually has to be enticed by a treat to go OUTSIDE, which I had to do this morning too. I tossed a treat down the stairs, he went out, came back in. Then right before I had to leave for work he wanted to go out again. Okay, he sometimes does that, if he decided not to poop while out there the first time but decides he needs to.
But he didn't 'go'--he just went to the patio and laid down. Looked perfectly content, not upset, hurt or anything. So I'm thinking he just wanted to be outside? |
my bogey is a challenge to get in also. treats work for him. |
Brick has always been extremely hard to get back in. Every time.
I either have to trick him by convincing him there is something to look at while I sneak up behind him and grab him or I have to wrestle him to the ground (where he immediately rolls over and goes limp), get one hand under his neck/shoulder area to roll him back over, and then lift him to his hind legs and walk him in. Sometimes when he's on his back, he squirms and wriggles and kicks at me. Forget treats. He doesn't even hear me when he's outside. He's scared of thunder & fireworks. I've contemplated keeping small firecrackers by the door to light off whenever I want him to come in. That would work. He would come screaming back to the door. |

I have to laugh about Brick "going limp" so u can't pick him up. I used to use that same stratagy when I was a kid and my Dad wanted to spank me...I would go limp and he couldn't get me off the floor. lol (memories) |
I had this issue for a couple weeks this summer. Sophie absolutely refused to come in the house for almost 3 weeks. I just let her stay out, but she got so dirty. She seemed totally happy and content to be outside. We just had to go out to play and pet her (which during 100F in Oklahoma is no fun).
Eventually, she decided she wanted to come in and then would go out to potty and come right back in. Who knows why they do what they do sometimes?! |
