Her disposition is as sunny as ever and she is not lethargic or in any apparent discomfort . . .. but we are worried since this is new behavior for her . . . |
|
Could be cramping a real sore tummy not uncommon to drool, tremble and pant with pain. Being elsewhere with her in Mexico could even be as simple as the change of water she has been drinking while away from her home territory that has upset her. Her tummy does not feel dissended or Taut does it?
At the moment dont worry at all about feeding her, rest the bowel and the whole system, with no food as they say for a good 24 hours, keep the water up to keep her re-hydrated then start her back on a simple diet of boiled rice and chicken (no Skin, no fat just the flesh part) as bland as possible and see if the stools are more formed before bringing her back over a few days to her normal diet. If after that still going real runny be best to go to the vets for something to calm all down in the system, if continuing with real watery stools for more then 48 hours then off to the vet with her. |
Probably it was the trip to Mexico . . . I wasn't too worried about the diarrhea since she is drinking well but hadn't seen the panting and trembling before . . .you have helped put my mind at ease . . . |
It's possible she could have giardia, usually caused by drinking water with bird droppings in it. You can take a sample to your vet and have him check it. It is not a behaviour changing type of thing. |
