THIS weekend Heart has eaten two of my bras!!!! TWO~~~~~!!!!!! and one set of earplugs!!!! The bra caper::::::::::::::::::::::: Now, she doesn't eat the straps ..but she ingests the hooks and the material !!!! There is no evidence of the tattered pieces so I have to assume she actually swallows!!!!! I am so worried about the metal...so, so worried!!!! I place my unmentionables in the corner of my chaise lounge by the bed,,so it's not like they are on the floor, she has to go on a hunting expedition to find them in the corner, under my jeans......, *****there is just sooo much I can put on my dresser.... The earplug delimma:::: If she sees my earplugs..she WILL eat them so I have taken great pains to put them in my bedside drawer as soon as I get up in the morning. In my haste to get up this morning, I did not close the drawer completely!! ...need I say more???? She seems to pass the bright orance plugs as well as the blue pastic string with no problem, but I know it's only a matter of time before something get wrapped around something in her gut!!!! ( I know she is going for the juicy plugs and the string gets in the way as it is going down... ))) I am at my wits end with this girl~~~ At almost 3 years old, she is certainly the most oral dog I have ever had!!!!!! Venting does seem to help~~~ Thanks~~~~~ |

If you come up with some solutions, please share! Wendel is the same way, with the exception of the unmentionables. He eats everything. |
Poor Val!
Thank goodness most of mine don't chew stuff. Biscuit does, but he's an 8 month old puppy and a lab - so no hope for awhile. He ate the packaging of my new card game this weekend while I was gone - but thankfully the game is safe. He has chewed up several brushes, rips into my bags of Chewie hair, and the charger for Todd's fishing depth finder. This morning he got a spray bottle out of the grooming stuff this morning. He incidentally had Chewie's tall brighty booties too - luckily I got those up quick as he was focusing more on the spray bottle... Oddly, he doesn't chew up his dog beds.... so I bought him a new one this weekend. It has a non-skid backing so I hope it will work better. His current one gets all jammed into the back of his crate as he flies into the crate for feeding or treats. He is such a clumsy, doofy clod of a puppy! |
One suggestion for the ear plugs - can you cut the blue string that holds them together off? That way she would just get the ear plugs - nothing that could wrap around anything in her gut. You can buy them in packs without the strings, too. With my super-snorer (hubby, not Sam) (although Drez used to do her fair share of snoring, too - but I digress), I only wish them made them with denser material because I can still him hear snoring thru the ear plugs. |
Oh Heart!!
Tiggy is a certified chomper as well and she too goes on hunting expeditions to track goodies down and steals stuff out of partially opened drawers. I've never had a dog who opened drawers and unlatched baby gates before. Sheepies are just to darn clever. |
I'm sooooo sorry. I TOTALLY feel your pain. Mequpak has nothing to chew in the room he stays in, outside of HIS MANY TOYS ...so he has started chewing all our window sills and his own feeding bowls (imagine him going right to them even though we pull them up after he finishes!!). He JUST started chewing things as he never did this before. |
SoooooOOOOO..I guess we need to start ANOTHER Club??????
Ecto-Eaters Anonymous I suspect we will have many, many members~~~~~ |
poor you and miss heart !! i use to say boy i am so lucky my dreamer never chews on anything but he just turned one and all of a sudden he is now digging up my entire yard driveway !! is i am now ready for the chewing to begin |
Soooooo...did it all come out okay |
Hearts telling you, she would prefer Victoria Secret included in her diet.
Bless your chomper hopefully she will eventually grow out of it Could be worse, friends sheepie ate her gold earring, that was fun waiting and dissecting the outlet stuff to retrieve the earring. Yep it went to the jewellers for re-shaping as came out after 3 days quite bent Gotta luv a sheepie. |
I don't know if it all came out !!! But my daughter was here this afternoon and said that Heart was 'relieving" herself...alot,,,,,,,this afternoon...So....I think we are safe ..once again!!!!!
Thanks for all your support!!!!! |
Maybe Chauncey isn't so bad |
I'm so glad Heart is okay, and things appear to have passed.
I never thought I'd be thinking, "Man, we're lucky to have Hudson." But your story actually made me appreciate him. His passion is LICKING bras, and he loves licking the insides of the armpits of any shirt/housecoat that has been worn, even for a moment. If I happen to pick it back up and put it on (for instance, I find that my housecoat has mysteriously fallen from the hook overnight) YIKES! Cold, wet, slimy pits. Nice Hudson. Very nice. |

Seriously, Val? You make things so easy sometimes..... Okay here goes..... It seemed like without your bras you were in need of SUPPORT. I have to admit she is getting more and more creative. Honestly, this is not a case of separation anxiety as she is doing some of this crap while you are at home. Personally, I would ask the breeder for a refund because she is obviously not a pure bred sheepdog ........ she is part GOAT. |

She must come by it honestly since we have dogs from the same breeder. Bella is a goat. She has eaten wireless cards, a bluetooth, my daughters camera chip...etc. |
ALI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Oh, don't beat up on Ali.
Sybil is part goat, as well documented, and she isn't closely related nor are most of her siblings afflicted Kristine |
Ya know, I looked for a WARNING tag when she came to me..I checked her ear, paw and tusch and there was NONE!!! I also checked the crate to see if maybe, possibly it had fallen off...NOTHING!!! (((knowing heart , she probably ate it enroute...... )) |

You know, there are a number of orally fixated dogs. Mace is too. She always has to be carrying something. Difference between her and her sister is that she seems to know not to SWALLOW everything she puts in her mouth. This weekend Sybil was being really needy. As I was petting her I saw about three feet of balled up string hanging out of her mouth. Nabbed it before it went down the hatch, but, geez! She's going to give me a heart attack some day. Based on what she's chomping on, I think Heart is making a statement about her feelings for you. (In a good way. Well, her INTENTIONS are good ) Sybil should be so discrimininating Kristine |
You people could save some serious money on dog food. Why bother?
I have heard about "high fiber" diets but I am not sure what these eating patterns constitute. |
would love to see pics of that |
Lola has a thing for prescription glasses. YUM! Oh, and a certain area of baseboard.
My hand to God, I have four dogs and Lola is 95% of the work. I adore her, but....wow... |
love to see those pics of the yorkie |

Yeah, Lola is at 3. One pair was actually on the washing machine and she got them. |

Maybe she is telling you something. Nearsighted and no thumbs to put the glasses on. |

Thanks for making my day! I love to hear about HEARTS antics! |

Judy thanks for defending me!!!
Gee I warned Wendy about Bella being a goat........... but then, Norm raised her as i was taking care of my mom at that time. What can i say? And HER mother (Bella's) was just like her daughter too....... Now HEART............ I dont have a clue on her!!! I cannot get her brother and sister here to play with ONE toy, or chew on a rawhide bone..... they just want to chew on each other's neck's. Now I will say if they can get into my closet (if i dont' close the door properly), my undies will mysteriously end up wet on a dog bed.......... not chewed, just wet. I haven't figured out which one this is doing it. I would LOVE to get my kids to play with toys...... these are the first 2 i've ever had that didn't play with toys......... they did when they were little...... |
