Skin disease: folliculitis
my 13 month OSE is suffering from skin problem since the age of six month. Vet said that he has folliculitis, which is a secondary disease. The primary cause is unknown. Vet thinks that it is an allergy (as usually when they do not know what is causing the problem). I was feeding him with IAMs, now changed to Buffalo Blue with lamb and fish. He is currently under antibiotic medication. However, even being under the medication the pink spots in his groin go and come back. Those pink spots eventually get scaly. Scaly spots normally occur in groin area, rear legs and around base of tail. The most importantly, he does not itch, does not have hair loss. I can not understand what causes those spots to come back. Anybody had this problem with his OSE? |

No, he has not. Previously antibiotics were helping really well, now it goes quite difficult. The red spot do not go away completely. My dog was put on steroid medication and I think that treatment weakened his immune system. that is why antibiotics are not that helpful this time. I just feel very bad for Ayash (my dog). I think I will do some allergy tests, but they are soooooooooo expensive. |
