Once I had this wonderful out of town groomer groom chiquita and she got SO MUCH HAIR out of her ears. Am I just not going deep enough? |

One of mine has a decent amount and the other doesn't get much at all. Clyde's is silkier than Owen's, whose ear hair is more like long fuzz.
It could be that you aren't going deep enough. The majority of hair that you're pulling is hair that you'd never see from the outside, deep in the canal. I only pull as far as my fingers go, though. I'm not comfortable sticking anything in an ear that deep other than my own hand! |
varies with the dog. Jack gives me lots but he has the thick coat. MO, a lot less but she has no undercoat.
Harry the ??....big ear canals and almost no hair for a hairy dog. Glacier the Pyr......hardly any. |
Asterisk, who has soft, downy hair, always has a ton of hair that I pluck. It also seems that she generates a lot more wax buildup, too. Wendel, my thick, coarser coated male, hardly has hair to pluck. |
