Not a great start to the New Year

i was in the yard with my gang. yesterday while i was petting one of my shih tzus, the sheepies were playing (running and having a great time in the cool weather) when they did not see me. They both ran full force into me. My left foot twisted into a position it should not be. Felt pain immediately. thought is was just a bad sprain. learned today i have three bones broken, i am in a temp caste until i see an ortho. not good.
my huaband must go to work. tomorrow the sheepies will have to go day care. i will try to get help so they can be here. i feel so bad .

Oh My! And here us northerners are thinking we are the ones to worry about slipping on ice and getting hurt! Hope you are okay. I know they don't do much for broken toes or feet. Just bandage and rest. Hope you feel better soon!

And don't feel bad about the doggys. I once broke my nose and had to put my then dog in a kennel for a night so I could recover without worrying about him. They will be fine in day care. You just need to get better fast!

Sending our sheepie kisses!
Ouch!! Take care of yourself first - everyone else will survive!
Oh No!! Hoping that casting is all that is needed for healing.
So sorry--hope you heal quickly! Take Care!
Ouch for you! :(

Sorry this happened, accidents do, unfortunately.
Ouch! Sorry that happened. Poor Edgar cracked my nose once accidentally. I hope it all heals well!!!!
Yeoww!!
Hopefully they are not bad breaks and you'll be up and about ASAP. :crossed:
Take care, all the best.
Aside from the broken bones, I bet it was quite a site! Sheepies running full bore and owner Head over HEALS.....OK OK it would of been funny had you not gotten hurt! Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!
get better soon!!! I hope the breaks aren't too bad!!
Many of us know your pain

Get better soon. That definitely has to put a damper on your activities!! Hopefully you're not in pain anymore.
I'm so sorry for your poor foot! :(

Does "trimalleolar fracture" sound like what you have?

My dad had that waaaaaay back in the 1950's!
thanks all. not sure of what type of break and don't remember what the er dr said about which bones. i cannot get to the ortho until tomorrow.
my husband is taking my sheepies to daycare and they will stay overnight tonight. i miss them so much!
yes the sheepies running full bore into me must have looked funny. wish we had video. i did laugh. when i was down bogey and gigi thought it was for them. they were jumping me and kissing me. i have not been close to the sheepies since sat night. i want some bogey and gigi kisses.
the shih tzus are enjoying their time in bed with me.
Oh no! 8O I have felt your pain and hope you are back on your feet soon.
Sorry about your accident. I hope you are better soon.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! I remember the pain when Sammy would accidently step on my foot when she was in a hurry to get somewhere. So I can just imagine what pain you must be in!
good news today. i do not need surgery. i now have a cast and will have to have it for 8 weeks. YUCK! still working on what to do with my sheepies. they are at day care again today. i don't want them there everyday. will see how they are with me tonight. i miss them!!!!!!
