Yes, I've been having problems. I just chalked it up to the fact that I switched from Mozilla to Chrome. There have been a few times where the Forum "disappears". |
Not me - been on all day (logged on), and certainly made enough posts.....
I'm on Windows 7 with IE, if that matters |
been unable to get on several times ...says server has been reset or something |
Over the last 2 days I've been told several times that the site was not available. I try other sights & can get on right away. I go back to this one a bit later & can get on. No rhyme or reason to it. |
Me too! Keep getting site is busy but eventually get through. I thought it was because of all the wind storms, etc we've been having. |
Slow, no broken threads. Had to log in twice today. Things happen but usually correct themselves. |

me 2....too!!!! |
Slow here and a couple of times where I couldnt log on or was logged out but I've had some issues with my internet connection just before Christmas so I thought that it was issues at my end. |
I am having problems too keeps logging me out and several times user down or something like that |
I just got a message "IE can not log onto this web page" and had to keep checking back for the last 5 min or so - just was able to access. All my other usual pages were working. |
seems to be getting worse |

Same here. Do we need to let Ron know? |
Same here, managed to log on yesterday but couldn't post. Then I couldn't access the site at all. |
Me too. either the site is not available (error message: 'Connection was re-set while trying to access') or I can get to the site but can't connect to the topics. I use Mozilla as well.............Very weird. I keep trying though |
Definitely getting worse. Maybe Ron is updating and stuff... |
started with me last night. Can not get loged or if I do I get booted. |
Yes--first problem I had was last night--after reading this post of all things--booted off then tried to get back on for about 10 minutes-- the message was that 'the server could not be found'. Didn't try to get on again until tonight--logged right in. So good so far... |
I am aware of the problem, and tech support is trying to figure out why this is happening. It's a server issue, probably a resource hog of a neighbor...
Sorry. |
OK, well the tech support people thought it was the photo gallery, however I don't think it was oes.org's issue at all, just that oes.org was running lots of things (as it always does!) at the time of the real problem on the server.
So after begging and pleading all night and showing the results of my investigation, I've temporarily disabled the slideshow feature to assuage the support beast and support has reenabled access to the photo gallery. I think all of this means they still haven't got a finger on the actual issue, so please continue to report access problems here and please continue to be patient as well. Thanks! Ron |
Thank you Ron!!!!!! |
Thanks Ron!!
Know what you mean, tech support keep telling us our problems are our modem, and that we should buy a new one from them. Funny that our modem always plays up at peak times like public holidays. |
Hey Ron just posted a couple of posts no problems then had a very short post take ages to upload, I nearly pulled the plug on it but after waitinga bit longer it postd. Now all seems back to normal. |
I was trying to read some threads and received the following error a couple of different times - "phbBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database" Hope this helps in tracking down the problems.

Issue still not resolved.... |
Hi Ron,
I've had difficulty posting and also uploading photos over the weekend. Lost my connection altogether yesterday. Still slow to respond today. Thanks for your efforts. |
Support has been blaming oes.org for the server issues, but I've not changed anything in the last week or more and there is no unusual amount of traffic to the website as far as I can tell.
As you may know, the site was down completely for an hour. That was because support disabled oes.org and the problems continued, so it's clearly not oes.org as the main culprit. So I am in discussions with them on how to proceed. Sorry for the horrible time we've had for the last week. |
got logged on now but when I went to look at pics in the Pictures section all I saw were red X's can others see pics at this time? |
A couple of seconds ago... yes ...now I hit refresh and can't. So I think it's everyone. |
Seeeeeeeems a little better now...... keeping my |
thanks for all you do Ron! |
spoke too soon |
Thanks for your hard work RON!!!!!! |
At least the message made me laugh when I was blacked from the site.
Something about not being authorized for this area and I would have to have you hold my hand to get through it. I'm not sure I know you well enough for that, Ron! I thought about taking a screen shot of it, but I thought the site might have been hacked. I try to avoid clicking anything on suspect site. |
I've seen that message before. I had problems yesterday, but I didn't get to hold Ron's hand |
LOL That message is designed for areas of the site that are "off limits" like directory listings and the like, and it dates back to the very beginning of the site. The way that support closed the site was to make the whole thing "off limits" with a single command, so any request for anything caused that very old error message to appear.
They still haven't found the problem, but they are saying "looks good from here"... Sigh. |
Dang you are up and At em early Ron! Did you sleep at all? Thanks for the hard work! |
Glad it's working!!! |
Progress: They think that they've actually seen the problem happen now, and are investigating the cause.
In about an hour or so, the technicians will probably be testing some of the hardware, so there will likely be more down time. But as long as they figure out what is going wrong, I'll be thrilled! |
Its been fine most of the day and just started doing the same thing all over again..... |
Yep |
I just got logged out when I tried to go to Forum Index. No message or anything, just logged in one screen then not logged in on the next. Also some very slow uploads. |
I just got a new one: (I copy/pasted it right off the screen )
Could not connect to smtp host : 111 : Connection refused DEBUG MODE Line : 111 File : smtp.php |
Was logged out this morning with the message phpBB: something or other error.
Sorry Ron I didnt write the message down and now I forget it. I couldnt get back in for ages and then had to leave for work. |
