He's about eight months old (or so) and came from the Humane Society. He's a black lab cross with ears that, in a strong wind, could easily cause him to take flight. Just a baby...and he was so calm and gentle. He'd stare you down to try to get food but NO jumping. Napped beside the tree despite the chaos of Christmas and children. Wow. He was found wandering, lost and hungry, in the worst area of our downtown core. He must have been so scared and lonely. When he was brought in he already knew sit and shake a paw so someone, somewhere must have cared for him at one point. Makes it even more sad. I just kept thinking about what a difference a few weeks can make. One day he's lost, alone, and scared with no food and no one to care for him. Last night he had bells on his collar and two dozen people sneaking him treats and loving him up. What a nice Christmas present for him and for the family. (They adopted him about a month previously.) |

That is lovely, I am glad he has found his furever home xxx |
Sounds like a sweetie. Our lab pup Biscuit is like that. Super laid back, nothing bothers him. He was with a bunch of pups outdoors (they had 2 litters, about 2 months apart in age) and has great dog skills. He was shy, but socialized super easy.
I took him to gradaution night of my co-teacher's class at the Paw last week. His 1st outing other than car rides with Todd, 1st time really on a lead. He learned to heel on a martingale, was a post with me for the classes figure 8's. The neurotic Weimareiner in class was in our group - Biscuit was fine with that too. He naps easily, doesn't jump and gazes with those big brown eyes. He is a lot like Chewie, he was a super easy pup too. Riley the rat terrier is as well. People swear it's us, as rat terriers aren't normally that way, but who knows?? |
Having done rescue I know that feeling. Good Luck to all and blesss them for taking him!!! |
