well - one thing you'll learn is rubbing him with a towel only encourages matts, so you won't be doing it often
Sounds like for whatever reason it was a warning - unless it was a pleasure growl, but you can't tell those from this distance something could hurt, or he might not like you on his level hard to tell. Off course I am sure you told him to stop and behave? |
They has chamois instead of towels at the do it yourself place I go to. It would take forever and use way to many towels otherwise. No rubbing needed with a chamois just simply press lightly against her legs or body and wring it out once it is soaked then back at it. I do know that the face and lip area can be sensitive and if the hair in the lips got snagged on the towel that certainly would hurt. |
Thank you didnt think about the towel thing with the matting he is cut very short but will definitly heed the warning in the future. So maybe it was just irritating him hopefully. Thanks need all the help we can get. Last dog was a Siberian Husky and was terrified of water so was a nice change to have a water baby to deal with. |
My nearly 2 year old started growling and semi snapping whenever my DH rubbed her sides (the same action as you would use with a towel). Then she did it to my Mom when she was rubbing her as well. It wasnt serious but it was an effective warning, everyone could tell that she really didnt like it.
I couldnt really find any sore spots but wondered if she had strained a muscle as she runs around like crazy when off lead. It seems to have stopped but then again she finally seemed to train DH out of doing it. So the jury is still out on whether it was a short term issue due to mild injury or whether she just doesnt like having her ribs "tickled" |
