Rehome an OES

I ran across an OES that was 1 1/2 years old. It had a litter a couple of months ago and the owner wanted to rehome the dog. I believe breeding at one year is to early. Would this have any effects on this dogs future health? What should I look for when I see this dog next weekend? I am told the dog is well socialized, housebroken, and easy to handle. Does anyone have any input on this?

Let's hope the owner is getting out of breeding business!!

It's hard to say if early breeding will cause problems. It happens in nature all the time. A lot of my rescue girls have been bred early, and if Glacier is any example.....it extends their life

But generally, no, they may be more docile after having that motherly job. Maybe some short time nutritional issues if they were not compensated for being pregnant and feeding pups, but nature heals quickly

Generally I wouldn't shy away from such based on health or emotional issues. I hope she finds a good new home...perhaps with you??
