I have just come across this site, I am looking on here today as I was watching a programme on television the other evening about dog breeds and breeding. I know of the name trecott, because back in 2006, we were looking for an old english sheepdog, We had one 34 years ago when we first married and we decided we would like another, but I did want a brown eyed one. We looked on epupz and there was as ad on there for old english,I contacted them and told them whatI was looking for and the woman sent me a photo of what looked to be a beautiful dog, just the markings we were looking for. I live in essex, it was a very long journey down to devon, to what looked like a huge sprawling place. The reception area was huge, the woman asked us to sit and wait while she went and fetched the puppy, she brought the puppy to us, he was beautiful, but having had old english before my hubby my daughter and myself knew what questions to ask. ie Hip Scores. This woman told me that she would not put her dogs through the misery of having their hips scored instead she waved a dna certificate in front of us. We asked to see the pups parents again, she went away and came back with two dogs that did not interact with the puppy at all, and then she bought the most sorrowful looking sheepdog into us, she said this dog was the puppys granny.I felt so sorry for it I wanted to put it in my car and bring it home. I could go on forever here, long and short, we pd a deposit (pup was only 5 weeks so she said but it was huge) when we got home we contacted the owner of macopa kennels and the OES secretary, we told her the name of this woman and we were told that this woman and her husband were puppy farmers, which didn't actually come as a complete surprise because some of the questions we were asking the answers were incorrect. The only reason we left a dep (which we got back) was the fact that this dog looked exactly like our first one. I am not going to put the couples surname on here but it begins with an H. If you need info on what happened next please contact me. But please anyone else, STAY AWAY FROM TRECOTT. if indeed it is the same couple as we saw, and there is no doubt in my mind that it is. |
Jenny, how can we contact you??? I have a few question to ask?? Debsx |
I can't believe I never saw the reply about Trecott - this place you are talking about is indeed the place I got my lovely Ollie from and I have to say, what you are saying is the furthest from the truth of my experience with the lovely Mr & Mrs H. Please don't write back, as I don't want to hear anymore and obviously its a shame you had such a bad experience - I'd go back in a heartbeat. |
We have a Trecott OES - he was 2 in May. Probably related to yours somehow. Maria |
not oes related by my yorkie who is 10 was purchased from Brighton way. I have had yorkies all my married life so when I lost one aged 17 and a half I was desperate to get another, contacted this breeder in Brighton she had a litter and 2 girls were available. We sent a deposit and picked her up a week or so later, the breeder had said her birth date was 23rd May but then on certificate it said 19th. We saw the mother but that is all, of course soon as I saw the yorkie I loved her. The ladys house was a mess but then again mine isnt Buckingham palace. On the way home with my yorkie I started to pick off fleas, they were obviously treated but i must have taken off about 30. We think she was slightly older than the lady said, buy apart from a blip with a tummy upset after a week or so she has been healthy. Imagine how I felt about 12 months later, an article in a national newspaper to say this breeder had died and when her son went into the breeding kennels there were dead and dying dogs (all yorkies) they had been kept in very bad conditions, even though the owner was a reputable breeder who had won loads of trophies. About same time as article I bought a cage as we were going away with both dogs and I wanted somewhere secure. Tilly saw the cage and dived in it wagging her tail, she loved it, so she had obviously been caged for most of her puppyhood with this lady. You just cant tell, but I wouldnt change her for the world..... |
Ahhh yes I'm sure there is some relation through the lines - my Ollie will be 9 on the 30th June, he has been the most wonderful, healthy, happy dog and acts like a 3 year old most of the time - was really hoping I could find his Brothers or Sisters xx |
