Hi there, I am a new member of this forum and am doing some research in finding a new puppy from a reputable breeder. We live in North Carolina but distance is not necessarily an issue. We currently have a yellow lab and an English Bulldog. The reason I am gun-shy is because our highly bred bulldog has one health issue after the next (as most bulldogs do) and I want a sheepdog that is healthy (don't we all) and feel I could get more straightforward insight off this forum than if the AKC gives a recommendation based on my location. Like I mentioned, I really don't care about the distance, I would rather go with a breeder who is known to breed for both health and temperment--can anyone help? |

Check out the breedier referral link under "looking for a puppy" on the Old English Sheepdog Club of America website: www.oldenglishsheepdogclubofamerica.org
Breeders listed there (they are catagorized by state/area of country but you can click on any area of the country to get breeders' names) are national club members, have had to agree to breed according to the code of ethics plus meet some additional requirements to be listed there.
It's a good place to start. |
