My question though is meant to help me (hey it is all about me ) as I look back over the last year in light of goals I had set for Marley (and I guess poor Morgan) and set new goals for next year. So here goes: Are you satidfied with your progress twoards making performance goals wit your dog this year and how will that impact what goals you set for 2010? |

But Kerry, you didn't list yours and if they were met!
We did well in 2009. RAE - We finished Rally RE the fall of 2008 (at nationals) and made it through the RAE's 10 Q's (well 20 really - as you need both RA and RE in each show) in 10 shows to title RAE in September 2009. Champion - after a year's break from showing in 2007-2008, Chewie became a champion July 24, 2009 at the Waukesha/SE WI OES club's Specialty. That was a good one, especially as saving coat was limiting our options in other sports! Herding - finished his AHBA HCT-s in April 2009. UKC - conformation - won BIS at a UKC all breed show in July, 2009 UKC - weight pull - finished his UWP (United Weight Puller) title in March 2009. NADSR - Weight Pull Champion So, on to 2010! Goals - Agility - compete and title in agility. Herding - Work more on herding and move on to more complex classes. Obedience - CD and continue to have fun and get in shape by carting and mushing (if the snow gods cooperate!) as well as become a UKC weight pull champion. |

So as not to discourage anyone - remember we spent most of 2009 in PT |

So no one has any goals?? I find that hard ot believe.
Lets see if we can get this going, I will deal with my goals met/or not section: Last year my personal goal was to have more fun - and indeed I did!! Face it whenever you have the nerve to make plans - you better have a sense of humor. Hear are last year's performance goals (and their fate) #1 Attempt to trial in agility - done, first trial, one entry one Q. #2 Trial in AKC agility by fall - well..... I did enter her in an AKC trial for June, and found out the day and hour it closed that she had three months of PT Lost that entry fee and found a trial for th efall - found out in August that it was the same day as the Newf draft test that I had promised to Steward at - at least I didn't have an entry in on that one already. #3 Attempt a rally trial in the fall - actually this worked out fairly weel as we had an RN by September. You know when life send you lemons Other accomplishments: Unplanned (or unthought about) accomplishments: #1 well she learned to swim (in a heated in door pool with a life vest on and while I wouldn't say she liked it - she tolerates it) #2 we did grow some coat - still have more to grow #3 made our breed ring debut - reluctantly - at the age of 4 (her not me ) #4 learned how to play frisbee - well here I think I learned more than she did And all in all- we had FUN!!! |
