But I'm not done with her video yet I anticipate the release date to be late December. When is this project due? Or, Dawn, is that why you're thinking field trip and agility was just a cover? I sense a plot here Kristine |
Happy Thanksgiving Poor Sybil |
Gothika |
Hey this is LeAnne!
Didn't feel like logging in The list is great. I am thinking of going with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or The Three Faces of Eve. I found the second one on the Wikipedia list. It is the first documented case of Dissociative Disorder...much tamer then our Sybil My teacher begged us not to do Girl, Interrupted (He has read so many papers on it, he can't take it anymore...hehe) BTW Kristine I have been discussing a trip out there with Mom...we will have to work something out |
Kent Keysey's book was a wonderful read. I never saw the movie but it received great reviews as a movie. I don't know if it is respectd as a treatise on mental illness. |

I for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. a real classic! |
Mr Jones
it's a great movie with Richard Gere, and the mental disorder plays the main character if that makes any sense. Shellie |
Leeann, Three Faces of Eve is a film adaptation of Sybil, which was later made into another film starring Sally Field, and more faithful to the book. Choose the film Sybil over Three Faces of Eve, for accuracy's sake.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was one of the very few films I've seen which I thought lived up (nearly) to the book, although not 100% faithful to the book. As a treatise on mental health, not so much. As a treatise (in part) on the conditions in mental health hospitals of the era, pretty decent. The main character is portrayed by (youngish) Jack Nicholson who pretends to be crazy to get out of a petty 30 day jail sentence. It becomes a power of wills between Nicholson's character and that of the head nurse, Nurse Ratchett, played superbly by Louise Fletcher. Other patients who are genuinely ill are major characters. Funny/tragic. |
