Here she is (again, sorry, no new pics of her - wish I had a copy of the pic of her in the Times) doing what she does best: And yes, she is still available and would prefer to celebrate her third birthday in her OWN home. Preferably with an agility title or two to her name. But for now: Happy Birthday, kiddo! Kristine |

Isn't she a stitch??? She's undershot - no functional big deal - which gives her a perpetual pouty look ( I wonder if that's considered as "sexy" in the canine world as it is among certain types of models? ) When my dogs pout they purse their lips - we call it the Citrus look (they look like they bit into a lemon) I don' think Daphne actually pouts, she's more prone to plotting (Sybil has mastered both ) I do notice she "smiles" a lot more these days. Definitely more relaxed. She still needs a lot more training and socialization which is why I think she needs a home with fewer other dogs to compete with in terms of available time (mine). If I had unlimited time and resources, I'd keep here and have fun competing with her. She's the soundest, most athletic rescue dog I've ever met. And when she's working she's definitely happy. I sort of hate the thought of introducing more upheaval in her life: she's been through two homes and three foster homes already in her short life (there's a reason she comes with a "this dog needs an active home and ongoing training! warning label ) and she feels comfortable with me. But it's not ideal. She spends more time in a crate than I would like. Usually by now my dogs are grown up enough to be left loose 24/7. But I'm afraid if I'm not there to supervise my cat may be worse for the wear when I come home. So it's a trade-off between asking her to adjust AGAIN, and getting her into a home that's better suited for her. It's so ironic. We've placed so many "interesting" rescue dogs. Here's a young, healthy, sweet bitch who should be easy to place. BUT, there's always a but she's turbo charged with a touch of OCD and most people find that hard to live with. I really can't blame them. In the mean time, it could be worse. She doesn't know there is better out there for her, so she's happy enough in her own way. I just can't believe she's two years old already. Time flies. So does Daphne Kristine |
Happy Birthday Daphne and a new furever home for you in the next year. |
