What is a "direct check?"

I just got a Best Buy credit card (so I can take advantage of their 18 month 0% interest on appliances). Reading the fine print, it says "in the event that you pay your account with a direct check, you agree to up to a $15 fee for each direct check." What the heck is a direct check??????

On the other hand, my new dishwasher will be installed Tuesday.

They probably mean an electronic payment from your checking account. Although why they would have to charge $15 to process EACH e-check is beyond me! :roll:
