Welcome to the forum.
So sorry about the dreadful loss of your twins. I'm glad you have a lovely friend to help you heal. |
So sorry for your loss. I am sue you will find a lot of useful information here. Enjoy your pup - they grow so quickly. |
I'm sorry for your loss. Animals are wonderful healers, and they know when we are hurting.
Welcome to the group and hope you post pics soon! |
I am sorry for your loss...As everyone else said animals, have a remarkable comforting power. Welcome to the forum ~~~ this is an amazing site of support and love of sheepies!!! |
Thanks everyone for being so welcoming!
I am reallllly enjoying my pup...he's really amazing. I have begun to wonder why anyone has any other type of dog! Of course...we also have a sweet pug and a lazy gentle bassett hound, but, neither of them is as clever and well behaved...neither of them seems almost human!! are all OES's like this, or did I just get really lucky with my fur baby? I feel like it seems that I only have to spend about 15 minutes to teach him something, and then, he's GOT it....with the exception of "heel" which seems less enticing to him I am sure I'll have a lot of questions...particularly about grooming...so far, he loves to be brushed, and the feeling is mutual from my end. Very therapeutic to spend time brushing him....he has a lovely coat. Sooooo soft and plushy. His favorite toy is a squeaky ball...he loves to drop it down the stairs and bound after it! What a treat...a dog that plays games with himself and is just as happy to have you join in! He loves anything that makes noise, and I suspect that is because his hair obstructs his vision...he wouldn't make a very efficient seeing eye dog!! However...he is a GREAT psychological service dog...he seems to KNOW when I'm feeling anxious! Anyway...again....thanks for welcoming me. |
We are going to need some puppy pics.
Welcome! |
Welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry for your loss, but happy that you have your spirit healer.
Puppies are awesome! If you have any questions, no matter how silly they might sound, just ask on here There is info on how to upload pics & your avatar in the Pictures section. Photos need to be approved first which can take a day or two. |
I am sorry for your loss. Welcome to you and your sweet sheepie boy. You will find this forum has a lot of information you may need. Check out the grooming section as his hair changes. The OES are indeed clownish and so much fun. My sheepie girl Vjiolet, just turned 7 and can play like a puppy still. My two Aussies are a bit smarter then Violet, but they take her along. lol
Enjoy your boy and we look forward to pics. |
emerging butterfly wrote: I know that's a funny subject...but, my puppy came into my life after we lost our twin sons to stillbirth. He was born as we lost them...and has been our perfect friend for the past few months. I was happy to see an OES forum...because I just think he is the greatest dog in the world. He is 5 months old, and is already so well trained I can not believe it! We have had him since he was 8 weeks old...and he's been perfect from the very first day. He is SO smart and SO gentle. I feel like he just really knew we were healing from a terrible trauma, and has been just a perfect gift. He's our spirit dog.

How do I post pictures?? |
Click on 'My Photos' at the top of the forum page, then click on 'upload file' and select your file from your computer. Follow all the on screen instructions, when the process is complete you need to wait for the photos to be approved, this could take up to a day, or it could happen real quick- it depends if there are moderators available to do that at the time. |
Congrats on Spirit sounds like a wonderfull OES. Welcome also. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I am very happy you have an OES in your life. I believe dogs are spiritual beings who are in our lives to teach us, to love us and to heal us. I just finished a wonderful novel called "The Art of Racing in te Rain" by Garth Stein. It is written in the voice of a very spiritual and philosophical dog named Enzo. It's a must read for all doglovers. |
