I'm having trouble changing my avatar. I went to the FAQ section and followed your instructions on how to do it using a photo already on the forum. Here is the URL I was using: http://photos.oes.org/albums/userpics/1 ... 0down.jpeg I paste it into the URL field and click 'submit', but I'm getting an error message that says: The avatar filetype must be .jpg, .gif or .png The URL says it's a .jpg (?) What am I doing wrong? |

Ok - here's something interesting. The photo I was trying to upload came from my phone camera - I tried to upload another photo that came from my digital camera and it went through immediately. sigh
So what do I do with that? Anything I CAN do? |
Well .jpeg isn't quite the same as .jpg as the program looks at the spelling.
I'll add the .jpeg as a valid type (I will have to change code to do that) and then will you try again when I'm done? |
Yup I'd love to But please don't go to a lot of trouble. I'll just make sure I use digital and not camera photos for my Avatar. Really, it's no big deal.
Thanks, Ron. |
if you are running your photo through Photoshop, your .jpg has to be in RGB format, or it won't upload. No CYMK. I learned that the hard way. But if its coming off a phone, it should already be RGB. |
don't forget that the size will and upload size is limited also.
