I have to lay on my side. Richard has set up his laptop on a stand so I can log in here and surf. TTYY, Deana |

Hope you feel better soon! |
Backs are funny things.
I'm sorry you're hurting! I hope it heals up soon. But take it from me -- do NOT lay around all day because of your back. You must keep up and about and active, or your back will atrophy and the rehab to get you back on your feet will take forever. It may be time to visit a doctor just to make sure the snap wasn't a bone or a disc. |
THANKS rON, HOW DO YOU STAY ON YOUR FEET WHEN IT STARTS WITH SO MUCH PAIN, |

Ron might be right, time to visit your Doctor for some anti inflams and pain relief to get you back up and about. Ice packs were wonderful when my back was really bad. I could actually get dressed all by myself after laying on an ice pack for 20 mins. Do as much as you can as often as you can and then a little rest. |
Oh you have my sympathy!! I've been doing fairly well with my back down here, as i have someone to do all lifting etc. for me here. But for some reason (I think it might have been the car ride this past week to/from Monterrey) it's bugged me this week. Could be the weather.
If it isn't better soon you need to get to the Dr. My mom turned around getting out of the car and slipped a disc back when i was younger, lol,. They ended up flying her out of NM back to Texas and putting her in traction in the hospital for 2 weeks back then. I'm not looking forward to the day when i do have to have my back surgery. I'm putting it off..... but thinking as our insurance will pay for it down here i might as well get it done. I can have all 4 disc done down here, the FDA won't allow more than 2 in the states. |
Ron's suggestion about keep moving is right on. If you are still hurting, you need an evaluation by doc; Xray, MRI or some such. The pop could have been a disc or bone break. You also need rehab to strengthen the surrounding muscles.
Years ago the prescription was traction, like Ali's Mom. They did that with DH. Subsequent "pops" they didn't do traction but rather the rehab/exercises with the words, "You've got a cra**y back, someday you'll need surgery." He put that off about 30 years thru exercises and being very, very careful. Now that he's had the surgery the doc said, "You still have a cra**y back, be careful or we'll be seeing you again." In addition to the disc problems he now has some real fine arthritis in there. Age is so much fun. |
