Force Dehydrated Food

Does anyone have any experience with this product? Opinions? We won a 10lb box of it in a raffle for a pitbull fundraiser last week. I just mixed some up for the dogs and they are going to town on it! It's very expensive, but something I wouldn't mind using as a supplement to the dry food.

I've heard good things about it. Aren't you supposed to mix it with vegetables, meat or meaty bones, too? I could live with the price if I didn't have to add more stuff to it.
Yea, it says to mix that stuff with it. I just mixed in kibble and will keep adding in their daily green beans/yogurt.... hopefully that will be balanced enough for them.
I believe the food is dehydrated. So it MUST be rehydrated with water or something or it will rehydrate itself in the tummy and can cause a big problem for the dog. The food expands triple its size in the dehydration version - which is why it MUST be rehydrated before serving. I believe the instructions say this. Mixing it straight with the kibble would concern me. One tablespoon of it in its dehydration form will expand tremendously...if you don't do this before serving and it expands in the tummy, I imagine its not good for the dog at least and can caouse bloat or at least uncomnfort. I believe the instructions say to mix with water and let sit for at least 15 minutes so it rehydrates before serving.

The food is considered to be a good food...but the instructions should be followed...
I've heard it is great especially for backpacking!
I have switched from Blue (fish and sweet potato.) to Honest Kitchen.
I use Force and Verve.I started Gertie on this product when she was 10 weeks, however her stomach could not take it.
She has been on Honest Kitchen for about a month and is doing great. She has dropped a few pounds which believe me she needed to lose a few. Have also noticed that her output is that of a dog on a raw diet. :D

oh don't worry i rehydrated it! you have to let it sit fr 10 minutes, i was actually surprised by how much there was after that... i mixed the kibble in after.

good to know! but what exactly is the "output" like for a dog on a raw diet? dave does the morning walks, so ill have to tell him what to expect!
Pyr friend used to feed it to her old dog who had trouble with high carb food. She said she wanted to eat it herself as she rehydrated it, it smelled so good. She raved about it as a good alternative to raw feed.

She's back to using Solid Gold on all her gang now, mainly due to $$. She'd gladly feed Honest Kitchen if she could afford it for 5 Pyrs.
