I had to go to a very sad wake today. My friend lost her 20 year old son unexpectedly. Very sad. She lost her husband a few years ago, her mother and now her son so it was a very sad time. I go to the funeral home, stand on a line to get in for about 20 minutes. I am crying my eyes out thinking of what to say to my friend when I get in there...I get to the door and say "Who the hell is ( name )"???? I was in the WRONG funeral parlor! No wonder I didn't recognize anyone and people were looking at me funny! Talk about embarassing The correct funeral parlor was about 20 minutes away.! I must say, I got in my car and starting laughing hysterically...I needed that laugh! Funny how life throws you something to get through when you need it... |

It is kind of funny, something that has been done as a comedy skit.
Glad you got a laugh out of it. I'll say a prayer for your friend. |
Oh, that is so sad for your friend.
Funny for you, yes! Maybe you should hire out as a professional mourner. Similar to one of my brother's wedding. Reception was at a major country club but in a smaller room since the large ball room was already reserved for a high society wedding reception. Some of my father's family had missed the wedding since they arrived late assuming it would be long like a Greek wedding where arriving late is no big deal. So they didn't get the word to not go to the main ball room but rather a smaller one. So they stood in the long line, wondering who all the strangers were, got to the bridal couple were all flustered and beat a retreat, not bothering to inquire about another possible reception. |
Oh DEAR! Wow that is a grand story to tell. Sorry about the death in your friends family. |
