How do you know if your blades are dull or dirty? When I say "dirty" I mean dusty. I keep my clippers out, plugged in but the blade is exposed. Can they get dirty and dull that way? They are not old and I only use them infrequently but I am beginning to think they may be dull after reading the other posts. They are stainless blades - Andis - and one ceramic - Andis as well. |

If you think a blade is dirty it probably is. Clean off surface dirt and carefully dip the blade into a jar of clipper blade wash and run for a few seconds. Don't submerge the clippers, just the blade. Then oil the blade thoroughly with a generous amount of blade oil. Running a blade dry will make it seem dull. Also, be sure both halves of the blades are seated properly and the blades are moving back and forth. Never put blades away dirty. Hair attracts water and dirt and will cause steel blades to rust. A nice container for your blades is definitely worth the cost. |
