Overwhelmed by grooming bills, want to start DIY

Hi all! So Sunny's at the groomer's right now, awaiting another $115 pamper session (yeah right, she hates it!). So, I promised myself that this would be her last time, I'd get a pro to get her perfect and pretty and then start to trim her myself. So, now I'm wondering what all the tools are that I'll need? Can I just go into a pet store and buy a trimmer? I'm confused, she's my first OES, and it's taken a year and a half of grooming bills to get to me to just want to do it myself. We like to keep her fur 2-4 inches long, and in the summer even shorter. I want to do it all, from her cute, spotted snout, to her massive feet, all the way to that tail nub! Any suggestions on types of tools, brands, online stores, etc? I've found info on what you need to groom an OES, but we're not keeping her in full coat, so I more need advice on what to get to trim her.

I know it'll be pricey, but I'm willing to jump in with both feet to save $$ in the long run, and to ensure that she's being treated well while being groomed (I'm a paranoid mom, I always wonder if they treat her well enough).

I'm not surprised you are going to do it yourself. It took I think three visits to the dog groomer before I had enough. I bought two pairs of nice scissors, 1 was a normal pair and 1 was a thinning pair. I also bought a nice clipper along with a set of clipper combs. I got all my stuff from Ryan's Pet Supply but there are lots of places you can buy from.
