2 white cake layers, baked (if you use a mix Duncan Hines is best for this) Filling: Stir together 1 small package each instant vanilla pudding and orange jello. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup milk, stir. Add 1 8oz thawed cool whip and mix well. Frosting: Beat 1 stick room temp butter with 1/2 crisco shortening until fluffy/2 minutes. Add 2 boxes (2 lbs) 10x, 2 tbls lemon juice, and 4 tbls milk, beat on low until well blended, add more milk if needed. Then just put it together and refrigerate. You will have extra filling left over and maybe some frosting. |

Is that 1 stick butter and 1/2 cup Crisco shortening... and then 2 lbs. 10x (powdered sugar)....? (you lost me at the Crisco......that's why I gave up Oreos and other bakery frostings) Still a very curious recipe...especially the filling. This has possibilities!! Thanks for sharing.......now I'll have to start playing with it. |
It is a 1/2 cup of crisco and 2 lbs powdered sugar . I was thinking maybe cranberry jello and decorating with frosted cranberries for a quick holiday cake. I've never tasted cranberry jello so I'm not sure about that one. |
You seriously are making me want to make cake now esp since I have the ingred. |
