If she only knew what was coming! I played a video of her herding in the past, and her butt went wild, and she started to cry and howl. I guess this is an early birthday present to her. We contacted Joy and she said they are having an evaluation this Sunday at 5:30. I am not sure if I will go b/c of the kids, and I hate them falling asleep (in the car) before bedtime, but mr. J will unless something goes wrong from now until sunday evening! I wonder how she'll do since it's been so long! After a year of not doing it, she did great last time, but add in an additional year, and I'm just hoping she remembers it's the sheep not the pez droplets she's after!!!! |

I am so excited for Yuki!!!!

Oh WOW!
That is so cool! She'll remember. I brought Belle out after several of years of "retirement" at age 11 1/2 and she's having the time of her life. Forget?! Not a chance! Yuki will be so happy. That's such a wonderful thing you're doing for her Kristine |

The whole family went. I took pics, but it was SO dark when it was her turn that they didn't come out as you see below. Our visit started out so chaotic!! We were 20 min late b/c we kinda had an obstacle to get through.
Every house had guard dogs, and following the directions we were given (miles were off to our next turn) ...we ended up at someone elses property where 2 dogs kept pouncing on our van (scratching it all over). You can tell they didn't bite, but were clearly telling us we were at the wrong place. They kept running in front of our tires, and we could barely move an inch without them biting our tires and again... jumping on our car. I can't believe how brave they are considering they kept going at our moving tires. 15 MINUTES to get out of A DRIVEWAY!!!!!!!!!!! We were so annoyed w/these dogs. Mr. J got smart and threw some fries out the window so we can make a dash for it!!! We only got up the road before our second obstacle which were these cows They don't respond to fries .....but they sure moved when we rolled the window down and they saw Yuki. We got there and we were greeted with the cutest sign. I can't remember what it said though. Something like.. Old Dogs, Young Dogs, Stupid Dogs ...so please drive slow Joshee has never seen so many pez drops in his life. ((sigh)) So he continued to pick them all up and throw them. You have no idea how many times we had to wash his hands. Yuks was last, so she cried and barked the whole time. The rest were first timers, and probably thought our dog was crazy. When she went in the ring, she immediately went to work. It's crazy how natural it is for her to do this. She gave us so many kisses when we got home which is normally not her that I am positive we made her year! ALTHOUGH I guess with a bath today, she may be wondering whether last night was worth it. We're not sure how often we will go b/c for 10 min (if it was that), I'm not sure $40 each time plus the drive there is worth it. You can tell Yuki wants more ...like an entire flock not just 3 sheep. I'm positive for her bday, she'll be wishing that we move on a farm when she blows out the candles!!! We'll have to talk to the person who let us do it to see if we can work something out. |
Yuki looks like she knows her job. I definitely think she needs her own flock. |
Awww Jo that is so nice of you to do that for Yuki. I know how hard it is to make time for extra curricular activities for the dog when you have young children.
Yuki must know that too by the way she was so appreciative. She sure looks like she made the most of her "ten minutes". |
It sounds like an adventure - before you even got there!
Hope Yuki gets to go again, and you can get some daylight pictures. I remember how into it she was when you were in AK. Looks like the boys had a good time. Getting them out on the farm is good for them too! |
Awww... she loves it, doesn't she??? That is so nice you got to take her. I hope you can work it out so she can go regularly like you did in AK. |
thats really neat of you to do that for her |
