The good (great news) is that the people I with, and my new bosses are terrific and HONEST! They love their customers and treat them with respect...a big departure from my last job. I'm pretty cofident that once I've been there for awhile, I'll be able to adjust my hours, but right now it's difficult for me. By time I get home, I'm pretty much spent. Also, there is a company policy of no personal computer use and no cell phones. I'm not much of a phone talked, but you do know I love to check my email and post at work, which I cannot do anymore, which is why you haven't heard from me. This weekend, I will catch up with all the news I've missed. If I missed someone's special celebration or loss...I'm really sorry. My heart is always with all of you. Talk with you over the weekend!!!!! Have a great day! |

I'm really glad to hear you like your new job, Deb. That's wonderful. I'm sure you will either adjust to your new hours or hopefully, get to adjust your work schedule to suit you better once you get settled.
How refreshing to work for someone honest and ethical! I'm hoping to move back into that myself with my next job. |
Great to hear you like your new job and hope you get those books up to scratch before tax time and those weekend work fests not to mention the all nighters when the deadline rolls around did my fair share of them and Boy am I glad I'm retired |
It is good to hear from you Deb. Happy to hear that you are happy with your job, other then the hours, not being able to use the internet. (bahumbug) Hopefully things will settle down for you soon and you won't feel so exhausted each night. I'm with you. I'm a morning person also...I could work early morning until early afternoon and be happy. I never had a job like that, however, always an 8-5.
It's almost Friday!!! |
Three words: Laptop. Lunch. Oes.org (assuming you get a lunch break).
Glad to hear you are alive and survived your first week at work. Sounds like a good place to work, a place where employees are respected and not resented. Take care and get those books in shape!!! Love ya. |
Yay for you - it's always uplifting to hear when a job is exciting and the move was a good one.
(You need an iPhone to keep up with the board. ) |
Oh glad to hear the new job is going so well. After you have been there a while maybe you can wow them enough to roll back the hours a tad. |
We miss you too! But we are so proud of you and happy that you feel you will settle in. I know how you feel about being a morning person, I totally am too & struggle after 3 as well, hope things calm down really quick. Stop socializing on your lunch break and get a laptop, we are more important than eating or making friends in your new job |
I tend to drag in the late afternoon also (after about 2:30) so I save my boooring work til then.
As far as no personal computer use, I bet you'll discover that people are on the Internet for recreation. I don't think it's possible to ban it at work--employees will always find a way. I wish Facebook and MySpace were blocked at my job. There are a lot of people here who spend too much time on those sites. (not me of course--I spend my time at oes.org). |
Glad the job is going well, Deb
Getting the job down is (I Guess) more important than social chat with your friends! |
Hi hi hi hi hi!!!!!!
Paula is on the right track....Netbook at lunch!!!! |
Glad the new job is going well!!!!
Miss you |
I was wondering where you were...since I just got back too! I miss you and I'm still waiting for you to visit me in Boston!!! Soon, you can even come to babysit. Xoxo |
Glad to hear from you! Happy the job is a good fit!
We had to block Facebook etc at work as our most unreliable staff spent most of their time on line instead of working! See my post: Onion Loaf!!! |
I'm glad everything is going well |
Glad you are enjoying the people! Settle in a bit and then you'll probably see you can get a few quick hits in on the computer |
