In the Novice jumpers ring she was a little spazzy, but pulled it together and we finished her NAJ with a second place. As I was walking the course I noticed a young barsetter sitting on a chair right in front of the jump right before the weaves. I warned her that if she saw something big and hairy running full speed towards her (Sybil feels she should thank the barsetters for their hard work up close and personally ) she should duck and roll. But she's finally getting better in this regard and left all volunteers unmolested. I thought this boded well for Open Standard but, alas, it was not to be and the entire first third of the course she completely ran amok, cheery picking her favorite obstacles at will. By the time we were back on board together all went well - and it was a tough course; the open courses of late have only been very slightly less difficult than the excellent courses, and some times they're harder! All went well till we hit the table, that is, and she hit it so hard she fell off the other side I'd been hanging out with one of my former agility instructors and when I caught up with her after and noted that there wasn't much redeeming about that run, she thought for a second and then reminded me that her jumping was beautiful (and it was and tends to be, and her speed is just lovely). That's agility for you: always looking on the bright side of things So, now on to Open jumpers along with Open Standard, where I fully expect we'll be for the next ten years awaiting her brain to kick in She is having a blast though, and so am I. Next trial is indoors. Maybe that will help. Maybe. It apparently snowed on Saturday! Luckily we weren't entered. Brrr!!! Kristine |

Gale mentioned you acheived a new title, but d/t poor phone reception didn't know which one...... Second place is the lowest she's placed in jumpers when she's actually managed to pull it together. For her other two legs she won the class. It was not a glorious run shall we say She's such a little fruitcake. But man is she having fun, and I love that. Without attitude, you have nothing in this sport. The rest will come. One hopes But thanks! Like Judi says. handler also needs some positive reinforcement now and then Nice of her to throw me the proverbial bone now and then. Kristine |
Congratulations!!!! |
Well given Tiggy's propensity for running amuck, I'd be literally skipping for joy if we even finished a course, not that we've actually officially tried a course. Just done some for fun stuff and Tig just hares off after distractions. You know dogs, people, birds, smells, imaginary things!
Now if we were to score a second, well their'd be bells and whistles. So guess its all relative. Make sure you CELEBRATE! |
Congratulations Sybil!!! And to you too Kristine! |
Nice job Kristine - Sybil has managed to train you well
We plan to return to trialing with a CPE trial Halloween weekend where I do predict snow |
