My name is Corbin, 5 months ago I decided I wanted a dog and checked on craigslist and found cocidius. He was only 7 months old and needed a new home immediately. I paid 100 dollars for him and picked him up late one night. He was very scared at first, but got better. A week later I brought him to the vet and was informed he had a bad ear infection, bad fleas, infected sores, and had no protection against heartworm. I had it all taken care of and also had him fixed a while later. I love cocidius but I did not realize how strenuous it would be taking care of him. He does not listen, he chews on everything, and he never stops being hyper! I go to school monday through friday, fulltime and work sat. and sun., all day. I just don't have the time to spend with him or to give him my full attention. I feel like he is suffering the most, he doesn't have me to be with him, no big yard, no other dogs. I keep him in an air-conditioned bedroom with his bed and toys. I can just tell sometimes how lonely he is. The true reason I am posting this forum is because I am torn and do not know what to do... I love my guy and we have been through a lot together but there is a part of me that feels like he would be better off with someone who can give him the time and attention he needs. On the other hand I think, should I ride it out and when I graduate it will get better and he will calm down because he is older? I honestly just don't know what to do, even thinking about letting him go makes me horribly upset but I want to do what is best for him. I need advice and honest opinions on what to do. In the end it's not about how I feel, it's about what cocidius needs... so I need shear truth.
