What does your breeder recommend?
It's best to keep a new puppy on it's previous food at least for a couple of weeks and if you do switch foods do it slowly and gradually. |
What Willowsprite so graciously left out is a new pup is excited enough, also changing food is likely to result in loose poops. Keep your little tuxedo pup on the same food as the breeder has been feeding and then, if you wish, convert him/her to something else.
I'd tell you what I've used, except its been far too long since we've had a puppy around here. Ours come already as adults. Iams and Eukanuba are two of many fine brands. |
I'd just throw in another option. We have used Innova large breed puppy mix. Bailee is now 1 year old and absolutely loves this food. |
Thanks,
I will check with the Breeder and see what they are feeding pups. |
I know some breeders use some pretty crappy food for their dogs b/c it's cheap, so I'll just throw out this website that tells you how some dog foods rank. Maybe you can gradually change his/her food and find something that suits them.
Most of the brands used are listed. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ |
