A walk in the Park

Yesterday was a gorgeous Spring day, sun shinning and Mim came over with tiggy to go for a walk with Syd, he needed the distraction of a non wonderfull smells of a sheepie girl while babette is finishing being in heat.

Mim arrived with tiggy and Syd was at the top of the drive way to greet Tiggy, she got out of the car and WHAO who is this big hairy beast. He went up and they introduced themselves, he had a sniff of her and tail wagging, thought this sheepie girl is OK and no tempting smells coming from her and then we popped both him and tigs in the back of my wagon and set off for a nature walk with both.

It was funny in the back of the car, who had the best view out the window, so the two moving and swapping sides in the back, they got on great which was wonderfull and syd needed the break from the other girls in the house.

We pulled up and parked the car at a nice park down by the river, lovely walking tracks. Got the two out of the car and off we went, they were so interested in what the other one was doing they missed the Kangaroos grazing, baby bunnies popping out of Burrows and Two huge wild geese on the river bank. even the Kookaburra flying over laughing at them. Tiggy I have decided is a "Tracking Dog" she snoofed her way around for Km's but missed all the action of the wildlife, I think this city girl loved the smells of the Bush.

Anyway we had a great morning with both dogs and babettes turn next time when we visit Tiggys domain in the city and she can show off her regular haunts to Babs.

It was a great adventure for Tiggy. She came home and slept for ages. :D

I know someone will ask but no we didnt get photos. We were too busy juggling the poop bags (both Tiggy and Syd decided that if you're experiencing nature then you should answer the call of nature and its a "leave no rubbish" bush park) and holding the leads of two sheepies who were very keen on seeing or in Tig's case smelling all they could.
Former neighbor would take a horse out for a walk........called it changing the horse's point of view.........sounds like tig got a new point of view. I'm sure all had a lovely time.
kangaroos grazing & kookaburra's flying..........

That sounds so strange that you can see them while on a hike with your dogs and you take it all in stride. I would be so excited & who knows what my boys would do! :?:

Does us seeing deer, foxes & coyotes sound as unusual to you?
that sounds fabulous - and shame for no pictures for your "right side up" friends!

Chewie has been very fascinated with the coyote and raccoon poop on our nature walks....oh, and the decapitated baby rat that the cat left as an offering....
Sounds like everyone had such a great time. Thank you for sharing.
Sounds like fun! :)

I was thinking of taking Willy over to my parents to play today to get his mind off Piper who is in heat now also, but I have a really bad cold that I'm sure my parents don't want so he'll have to just continue wandering aimlesslessly whining. Poor guys.

The coyotes yes we have deer and foxes here along with the rabbits. They're all not meant to be here but someone thought it was a good idea to bring 'em over for hunting.

What sounds really amazing to me is when you talk about there being bears or wild cats. We only have koala bears and feral cats  they're just a bit smaller.

Your question reminds me of a time we took one of Wayne's South American work colleagues cross country skiing. We came round a bend in the trail and there was a big trail of dirt on the snow. It was a mummy wombat out for a stroll with her little baby. Even we were surprised as they are nocturnal. 8O They arent fast so she just stood there blinking at us. We went up just a few feet away and stood and watched them for a while till they waddled off.

I will never forget Addison, he was beside himself with a combination of excitement and frustration. He kept repeating over and over "No camera, I have no camera" We didnt even think to take a camera with us.

I guess it is just what you get used to.
