Vegetarianism

I was a lacto-ovo-pesca vegetarian for a number of years. I never really missed meat that much. But since being with Josh, I had become more and more relaxed with my food intake until I just stopped the l-o-p vegetarianism.

I've been toying with the idea of going back to it. But, as I've aged and experienced new things, I have found that I like these new things and I'm not totally sure under which catagory they would fall.

What catagory would frog legs and snails be under? Would that be considered a meat product?

Help!

Hm, I wouldn't be too concerned about "categories" as much as I would about what you feel comfortable with. What were your reasons for vegetarianism?

If it is for ethical reasons, or because you love animals, I suspect you are feeling bad about eating these new things just because they taste good. If this is the case maybe you should ask yourself whether frogs or snails suffer when they are raised and killed for human consumption.

Personally, I have been vegetarian for 10 years. I do not eat or wear anything that an animal with a nervous system had to die for. I also do not consume or wear any animal related products from animals that suffered while making them. For example I do not eat eggs from the grocery store because I know that most of the conditions of egg laying hens I am ethically opposed to. I do however eat eggs from a local farm up in Wisconsin, where I get to visit the chickens and see how well they are treated. I have to admit I eat cheese pretty indiscriminately, but I'm workin on it!
The reason I went into vegetarianism was I liked the way I felt. I was finding that when I ate meat, especially red, that I was always tired afterward. Turkey causes tiredness. When I was consuming more vegetables than meet, I was finding that I was more energetic and more likely to go walking, be outside, and less likely to want to just sit on the couch digesting.

It also helped in weightloss, too. I have friends who are vegan, and I do respect their dedication. It's pretty hard to be so conscious of all that you eat.

I also have a read achilles' heel with cheese, also with yogurt and milk. That's why I could never go complete vegetarian.
Veggies are definitely good for energy and digestion and other things that weigh on the way you feel daily.

I've been eating a lot of crap lately, so I'm with you and need to find a better balance. We live in a little mexican neighborhood so it's impossible not to have taco night every night
