When I really want to see them I call and say we are having bacon noodle skillet for dinner and they both always show up!! Of all things that is their favorite--good reason to call them home! What is bacon noodle skillet?? Is sounds really good! Here is the recipe--I ususally double everything because the kids love it so much and it is one of those dishes that taste even better the next day so we plan left-overs on this one: Bacon Noodle Skillet 1 lb. Bacon Bacon Dripping ½ cup diced onions ½ cup diced green peppers 1 tsp. Salt 1 28oz. Can diced or crushed tomatoes 1 16oz. Can diced tomatoes egg wide noodles, uncooked 1 pkg. Shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or medium) Cook bacon to desired crispness and drain. Add green pepper, onion and seasonings to drippings and cook 5 to 10 min. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil. Add noodles, cover and simmer until noodles are done. Crumble bacon and add to mixture. Top with shredded cheese—cover and heat until melted. This is a great fall and winter comfort food! Because it is so calorie laden we consider it a treat every once in awhile! The recipe is from an old Oscar Mayer cookbook that they put out about 35 years ago! Enjoy! |

I think the piglet that played Babe was half baked while they were shooting. (Actually I read that they used many pigs.) Every Monday a new pig -- none of them seemed to work more than one Fryday. Please - Somebody stop me!!!!! |
Ok...I know a bolt of lightening will come through my roof, but I BACON! I'm making a roast tonight which I will drape with bacon (since it is such a lean roast, and cuz I bacon!) On Anthony Bourdain's show the other day, he was drinking bacon flavored coffee! No, really! |
